On April 17, the small farming community of West, TX was devastated by a massive explosion at the West Fertilizer and Seed plant. What started as a small fire quickly grew into a very dangerous blaze. As the volunteer Fire Department and EMS crews were trying to get the situation under control a massive blast occurred that was reportedly equal to 20,000 pounds of dynamite. That explosion destroyed fire apparatus and ambulances that were on the scene as well as all the equipment that they contained. Twelve first responders lost their lives in the blast that sent debris as far as two and half miles from the center of the explosion.
Myself and several angling friends have got together to coordinate a benefit bass tournament to help replace the equipment that was lost in the explosion. The volunteer fire department and EMS service, lost tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment. As a volunteer force they are in need of assistance to get their equipment replaced

Where — Lake Fork Resort
When — June 22, 2013
Registration — June 21, 2013 from 5pm to 10pm and again beginning at 4am the morning of the tournament.
Entry Fee — $150.00 this includes big bass.
Format — Anglers may fish alone or with a single partner, tournament limit is 5 fish.
Scott Gordon from Oakley Big Bass Tour has volunteered to be the Tournament Director and Emcee, along with bringing the Oakley BBT Trailer.
In addition to trophies and cash, First Place will also receive a pair of Kistler KLX rods. The two highest finishing women will each receive a “Reel Girls Fish” Gift Card donated by Reel Girls Fish.
There will also be a large raffle with drawing immediately after weigh in for rods, reels, game calls, sunglasses and many other items donated by our generous sponsors.
