Bassmaster Elite Series

ORMOND BEACH, Fla., – June 12, 2007 – First, second and third – that’s how three Costa Del Mar’s pro bass anglers finished in the Bassmaster Elite Series Blue Ridge Brawl held this past weekend at Smith Mountain Lake in Moneta, Va. Twenty-three-year-old rookie Casey Ashley from Donalds, S.C., took home the top prize of $109,000, with the winning weight of 57 pounds, 3 ounces.

 

Also on Costa’s pro team, Terry Scroggins of San Mateo, Fla. and Takahiro Omori of Emory, Texas finished second and third, respectively. Scroggins ranks no. 7 overall in the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year standings, while Ashley is tied for no. 8. Ashley is also currently tied for first, with fellow Costa pro team member Derek Remitz, for the 2007 Toyota Rookie of the Year.

 

Costa Del Mar is the official sunglass of the Elite 100 Series. Other prominent Costa pro team members include Jason Quinn and Brent Chapman.
