Sturtevant, Wis., March 14, 2012 – Evinrude announced today that tournament anglers on the FLW Walleye Tour and the Bass Fishing League (BFL) who power their boats with an Evinrude E-TEC outboard engine will be eligible for contingency awards throughout the 2012 season.
Evinrude will award $8,000 to the winning pro and $2,000 to the winning co-angler in each 2012 FLW Walleye Tour qualifier. In the season ending FLW Walleye Championship, the winning pro will receive $15,000, and the winning co-angler will receive $5,000. Additional rewards will be extended to pros and co-anglers finishing in the top 10 in qualifiers and in the championship.
A complete list of rules and eligibility requirements for the Evinrude contingency program can be found at http://www.flwoutdoors.com/walleyefishing/walleyetour/contingency-awards/.
In addition, at each BFL tournament Evinrude will present $1,000 to the highest-placing owner of a 2010 or newer 90-250 hp Evinrude E-TEC outboard. The Evinrude BFL contingency is the most lucrative contingency award on the BFL circuit with a guaranteed yearly payout of $120,000 for Evinrude compliant anglers.
Professional angler and former FLW Outdoors president Charlie Evans won the season’s first BFL contingency award after finishing ninth overall in the BFL Gator Division tournament on Lake Okeechobee in January.
“The contingency award was a nice surprise after finishing well at Lake Okeechobee,” Evans said. “I’ve been an Evinrude guy for years, and that little extra given by Evinrude is great motivation. All of us in the BFL appreciate the support of Evinrude and what they do to keep professional fishing strong.”

A FLW Tour sponsor since 2011, this is the second year that Evinrude has provided contingency awards for the BFL and FLW Walleye Tour.
“No matter if they’re fishing for bass or walleye, Evinrude owners are loyal to the brand and the quality on-the-water experience that the Evinrude E-TEC provides,” said Christopher Berg, Director of Marketing and Strategic Planning for Evinrude. “We are honored by their commitment, and we are proud to support them as they compete with the best on the FLW Walleye and BFL tours.”
