My fishing career is really just beginning at this point. My accomplishments include tournament wins at the grass roots federation club level with two bass clubs in Delaware, and qualifying for the Delaware B.A.S.S. Federation Nation State Team in 2006 and 2008 (State Champion ’08). Currently I am the President of the Eastern Shore Bassmasters of Delaware, Vice-President of the Delaware B.A.S.S. Federation Nation, and team captain of the 2008 State Team. My goals are to help promote youth bass fishing in our area and establish conservation awareness for all Delaware anglers.
Last year (2007) I founded the Eastern Shore Junior Bassmasters club in which we recruited 5 young anglers between the ages of 12 and 17, and qualified 2 anglers for the 2008 B.A.S.S. Junior World Championship. In 2008, we’ve doubled our recruitment and have retained anglers as well through the year. One of young anglers finished 9th in his age division at the junior world championship held on Onodaga Lake in New York.
Our promotion of conservation efforts for the ponds, lakes, and rivers in Delaware received recognition from B.A.S.S., and a brief article on the GO FISH program was published on the Bassmaster website. I continue to work with officials from the Delaware and Maryland environmental agencies supporting conservation and water quality improvements.
