Gear Review: Lew’s PRO-Ti Reel

What is it?

Lew’s PRO-Ti Reel

What sets it apart?

Introduced during the Bassmaster Classic Expo, this baitcaster is billed as the lightest and toughest Lew’s has every produced. Supporting this claim the PRO-Ti boasts a one-piece aluminum frame and aluminum side plates with titanium composition. The hard aluminum alloy Speed Gears are cut on high-end Hamai CNC (Computer Numeric Control) gear hobbing machine for precision gear mesh that delivers smoothness and durability.

How do I use it?

For silky performance that’ll stand up to heavy use, the PRO-Ti  uses a premium 11 bearing system with double-shielded stainless steel ball bearings and a zero reverse one-way clutch bearing. The proprietary brake shoe geometry of the externally adjustable 6-pin, 27-position QuietCast Adjustable Centrifugal Braking System (ACB) means a quieter and smoother braking system. Available in left and right-handed models, both with a 7.5:1 gear ratio

Angler’s insight:

The serious tournament angler should appreciate the combination of strength and durability that Lew’s has built into this reel. Making thousands of casts and winching in toads takes its toll on a reel, but it looks like Lew’s built this one to get the job done reliably. Cool features include the exclusive and patented Speed Dial line indicator that allows you to instantly recognize the type and size of line is spooled on each reel, along with the patented Speed Keeper hook keeper that holds your hook/lure between uses.
