Uncle Josh / Bass Stalker Baits

Fort Atkinson, WI – The pig has found its jig!  The Uncle Josh Bait Company has purchased Reading, PA-based Bass Stalker Baits, a manufacturer of high quality bass jigs.  The transaction was completed on October 4, 2005.  Terms were not disclosed.

The Bass Stalker name will be added to the Uncle Josh, Sizmic, Little Stinker and Burmek brand names that are currently manufactured and marketed by the Uncle Josh Bait Company.

Started in 1995 by Perry Haas, a Pennsylvania-based tournament bass angler, Bass Stalker Baits sells three distinct jigs: the Original Bass Stalker, the Grass Stalker and the Spot Stalker.  All three jigs feature a unique, concave head design which allows for a slower fall, stand-up presentation.

"We are actively seeking acquisitions within the fishing lure market and wanted to acquire a quality jig line with a grass roots following among avid bass fishermen.  We feel that Bass Stalker represents that line," said Kurt Kellogg, president of Uncle Josh Bait Company.
