While benefiting a great cause, this event is a must for everyone’s summer calendar. The third annual Lake Palestine Palooza, benefiting the Humane Society of East Texas, will be held at the Marina in the Villages Resort on Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, May 29th from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. The Villages Marina is located off of Hwy 2661 west of Hwy 155. Admission is FREE with a donation of dog food or cat food.
The Lake Palestine PALOOZA has become an anticipated annual event. This giant Lake Party has live bands all day, several local radio stations broadcasting live, food vendors, exhibitors, bounce houses, great raffle prizes, boats in water for demo rides, motorcycles, ATVS, lake toys and more. It has proven to be a super fun event for the entire family on this kick-off-the-summer holiday weekend.
Live Music straight out of Austin will bring the Lake to Life! Defining the next generation of Texas music, Jonathan Terrell will bring his original Texas sound to the Piney Woods from 5:15 – 7:00 pm. Jonathan’s Americana appeal is best summed up as “Country & Western for people who wear Skate Shoes”. Also bringing Austin’s 6th street to East Texas, Scorpion Child will contribute their interpretation of ’70s rock to the mixture of musical offerings at this year’s PALOOZA. The group has toured with the Reverend Horton Heat, Godsmack and the Cult, among others. Scorpion Child will be playing from 3:15 – 5:00 pm. Opening the day with a taste of Texas Red Dirt; at 1:00 will be East Texas’own rising stars, JB & the Moonshine Band. Radio Stations 96X, 93.1 The Mix , 101.5 KNUE and The Breeze will be broadcasting live from the event.
The PALOOZA will continue to have FREE admission but this year will request you bring a donation of dog or cat food. The Humane Society will bring out some great pets available for adoption. Vendors at the event will be donating a portion of their sales from the event to the Humane Society. There will also be some great raffle prizes with all proceeds going to the cause. H&W Marine will be offering a week-long promotion May 29- June 4, 2010; donating $100 for each boat sold from their Tyler Store to the organization. H&W Honda of Palestine will join in this promotion by also donating $100 for each motorcycle or ATV sold during these dates.
