Jarrett Edwards Outdoors Continues Operation Outdoors in 2012, Supports Lone Survivor Foundation for Wounded U.S. Military Veterans

Page, Ariz. – In 2011, Jarrett Edwards, the host of Jarrett Edwards Outdoors and a former Bassmaster Elite Series angler; along with his wife Rebecca launched Operation Outdoors, an outreach for the wounded military veterans of the Lone Survivor Foundation.

The program was designed to promote healing for U.S Soldiers who had experienced issues with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, traumatic brain and other war related injuries. Throughout his travels, Edwards would allow people to sign the Operation Outdoors promotional wrap on his bass boat and at the end of the 2011 year, the boat was donated to the Lone Survivor Foundation.

Operation Outdoors has taken a step forward in 2012, and is announcing an increased fundraising opportunity for the Lone Survivor Foundation. Instead of leaving their marks on the vessel, military veterans will be able to sign the wrap on Edwards’ Ford F150 tow vehicle. The sponsors of Jarrett Edwards Outdoors television show will be keeping track of the number of signatures, and will be donating a per-signature amount of money to Lone Survivor Foundation.

Edwards has a heart for people in general, but the efforts of the foundation really touched them, and to show their respect and gratitude, they funded the program themselves. “Rebecca and I realize that our soldiers pay it forward every day by serving this country; with their lives if they have to,” said Edwards. “With Operation Outdoors, we are simply giving back what we can.”

Because the Lone Survivor Foundation relies so much on Outdoor activities to aid in the healing of combat veterans, Operation Outdoors is a perfect match. “Being on the water has always been an important part of my soul,” Edwards said. “By combining the healing properties of water and our love for the outdoors – together with the Lone Survivor Foundation – we are helping heal soldiers one fish at a time. We are grateful for their efforts for the men and women who serve this country, and to our sponsors for stepping up and doing the same.”

Beginning January 5, the Edwards will begin the promotional work that has them traveling the country. During the 2012 year, any member of the U.S. Military may sign the Ford F150 and have their signature be counted towards raising funds for the Lone Survivor Foundation.

Jarrett Edwards Outdoors and Operation Outdoors can be seen at outdoor shows and expositions throughout the winter and spring in the Western United States. The Operation Outdoors Ford F150 will be on display and ready for signing. So, come meet the Edwards, and leave your mark of healing on a soldier in the process.
