Day two of the ABA National Championship was said to be a tougher day than the first. With fewer anglers bringing bass to the scale it was obvious that the day didn’t go as many had wished that it had.

Yesterday there were 5 anglers that brought a bag of bass to the scale that weighed over 10 lbs. and today there were only two. There was a nice bag that weighed in at 10.13lbs and Marty Strickland brought in 11.22lbs, giving him a total of 20.21 lbs for the two days. Marty also had the big bass of the day with a nice largemouth that went 5.47lbs, giving him the lead on day two. Michael Murphy had the lead on Day One with a 13.28 stringer and came to the scales with a weight if 5.34lbs today giving him a two day total of 18.62lbs and a close second place. Some of the other names at the top are James Ward in third with 18.41lbs., Michael Garrell with 18.19lbs in fourth, another local Louisiana angler in 12th place is Ben Clemens with 15.50lbs., and Jeff Pate right behind him with 15.16lbs.

The weigh in line wasn’t as long today as it was on Day one. Casey is fishing as part of CAST (Collegiate Angler Scholarship Tour) and ranks 14th.
