i am 18 years old and just signed on bethel university's bass fishing team. i was just wondering if someone could help me out on how to go about getting sponsorships. I have been fishing ever since i could walk and now with the prices of everything its getting hard to keep going. ive fished in a bass club for a few years and also a highschool team at my old school and did very well in both, also i go just about every other day by myself or with a friend to ky lake. I have a ranger z21 with a 250 verado on it. So i have the equipment and the experience but i just dont have the means to fish the bigger tournaments. I am wanting to get into some of the bassmaster weekend series and the flw stren series as well as some bfls and local tourneys. any suggestions on how to start at this would help.  thanks,
Tclouse
When you have tried so hard you just want to give up, you are closer than ever to achieving your goal.

There is a lot of good information in the threads here on the forum. I have moved your thread to Sponsorship, Resumes and Reviews. Check out the threads here in this board as well as the other boards Fishing Resumes and The Chop Shop to get some other ideas.

There are a number of people here who have obtained sponsorships based on the information here and a little elbow grease ;)

Do a little reading and come back with some specific questions.

There's some great bass clubs in our area. Four Flags, Michiana Weeknights, SMAC, NBAA, and more. I recommend you start by fishing the local clubs and once you get good start fishing regionals and on up if you want too. There are several semi-pro and pro anglers in our area and once you get to know them they can help you get sponsors. Mickey Thomas, Teddy Bradley, Greg Mangus, just to name a few.

PM me and I can help you out on some local tournament and lake info.

If you have any questions, I can help you... Within the last year I have obtained a few sponsorships, with the biggest and best being Bassaholics and also Denali Rods. One key pointer I would give you when looking for sponsors would have to be..... The company wants to know how you can benefit them, if you can sell youself to a company, you could become lifetime partners, if you don't sell yourself, you could potentially ruin it. Just remember to always be yourself and tell the truth... Lying will get you nowhere in life. Any further questions just PM me! Good Luck!!!!!
A bad day on the water, beats the best day at work.
