2012 excel stalker center console 18' it has a 80'' beam and weight 825 lbs.
The motor is a 2012 E-tec 90hp it weights 320 lbs and the ratio 2:0:1
total weight of the rig is 1245lbs with gas filled up .
As of now I have a 6" jackplate (manual) I measured  center on the prop shaft  to the pad and from a level ground to the pad subtracted those measurements and got 5.5 "  they say i should be at 3.5" center prop shaft to bottom of the pad) scared to raise the motor higher because i dont want to pick up more R.P.M.'s as of now IM running a 13 7/8 X 19 pitch  Viper S.S. prop and WOT IM turning 5950 RPM . At 46.5 MPH gps . Should I goto a 21 pitch s.s. Prop to cut my RPM closer to 5500 RPM? Or a 19 pitch with more cup?evinrude says 5200-5500 rpm max) i have 2" left of adjustment on the jackplate should i raise it those 2" and try a 21 pitch to lower my R.P.M.'s ?  :help:

Im not the right guy to answer your question Perry, but I have one for you.  Ive been looking at that same Hull, only in a single console.  How is the stability?

Definitely need to go up to a 21. Once there you'll find a little less hole shot as its more to turn. As you bring the motor up, from that deep, you may see an increase in hole shot. Keep coming up until you start to see a decrease in hole shot time/distance again. This will probably be around the 3.5 inches that they suggest. Mark the motor hieght at its current position so you have a reference point of where you started. Slowly raise the motor 1/4 inch until you reach the performance your looking for.

Those are some high Rev's for that motor and the set up you have, especially if those measurements below pad are accurate.  90 HP Etec, especially if it is not the HO, will have trouble turning a 21 pitch.  But I could be wrong...

Are you sure the tach is set right, it should be set at 6 pulses, and maybe you are set at 5 pulses.  If it is at 5 instead of 6, you are really turning around 4800-4900 RPM's, and you should be able to lift up to the recommended 3.5" below pad and get to 5500 RPM's and push the top end up!

yeah im loving this new rig just trying to get it right...  im going check the rpm gauge today and see if its set on 5 or 6.. and yes i can swap my prop with the place i purchased the boat .  i get a little lost in turns only when at wot but if i trim down a tad no lost..  as far as hole shot it jumps out the water blistering hole shot.  great mid range it gets to 46 mph very fast. just i start to push it and it will do 50 mph but it starts to porpoise. just trying to loose some rpm and get a couple mph.    i took the boat out by myself and loaded gas bait poles my buddy etc and it still ran 46 mph really couldnt  see a big change ..

Great to see not much of a difference when adding on a load.  Let us know what you see with the tach.  Be nice to get a few more MPH out of it, and I'm sure you would be happy to know you are not over-revving the motor...

Thanks Perry.  The 2012 models are limited to 60 hp without the add on flotation on the transom.  Some older models have up to 90's on them but not sure if there was any changes that warrent the lower HP rating.  Wonder what kind of MPH id get with a 60hp....  Jim

well if your going to get the 1860 single id say maybe 32-34 id get the full floatation more hp ...... my boat is max rated at a 115 hp the one i test drove had a 115 e-tec 61 plus mph from the one i test drove which was way crazy for that light hull plus i couldnt afford so i went with the 90hp ..  they said i should be able to get 50 mph at 5600 rpm.  so im trying lol

Well, if you still have access to that 21P, I say give it a try.   ~c~  If you can push it and get on plane, you might be able to do some nice work.   ;D
