I have a 2003 Ranger 175VS with a Merc 115 ELPTO, Minn Kota Maxxum 74# digital, Garmin 160 in the console, rod lockers have individual rod storage, it comes with 2 normal seats and one butt seat.  Boat is in excellent condition for a 2003 and motor has been well maintained.

Is it a single or dual console?

Mike, its single, never really liked the dual consoles to much.  I grew up in one and always seemed to wish it was gone so Id have more room to fish.  I spend more time fishing than riding.

Yeah, that's average retail. You said it's in good condition, so you might get more. Rangers used to carry a little clout when it came to resale when they were in good condition. Plus it doesn't take into account for the electronics.

That said, a bank is only going to care about NADA, convincing them to loan more because of add on's is not likely. So anyone looking at buying it from you would have to make up the difference if you wanted to get more out of it.

I would like to also add , most banks at least the ones I have dealt with in the last 4-5 years don't like to loan money on any type of recreational vehicle over 5 years old . On top of that they only will loan 80-85% of nada value . And the interest rates aren't even close. I have found the credit unions to be a lot easier to deal with with unbelievably low interest rates .maybe it's my area or just my banks but I get much better service from local credit unions on anything but mostly on boats, campers and atv's .
Hope this helps

My dad has a 2004 175vs with a 125 Merc he got for $12,000 two years ago so I would say between $10-11,000.

bassbmx, I wonder how much faster his boat will go vs mine with the 115hp.  I kinda feel like this boat could have easily handled a 150hp motor.

We do about 55 mph tournament load with two people when the water is flat. Most of the lakes in the area are around 500 acres so speed doesn't really matter too much to me.

Does he have a jackplate on his boat?  I do good to get 45-46 fully loaded.  I wouldnt thing 10HP would be that much of a difference.

look here as a starting point... http://www.nadaguides.com/Boats/2003/Ranger-Boats-Wood-Mfg/175SVS+/10145648/Standard-Equipment

as you go through the site, plug in your ZIP code...but also do a search for your model boat, year on Google...you'll be able to get a feel for price vs condition...

hope that helps...on the other hand, from personal experience:  what I think my boat is worth, and what a potential buyer think it's worth...often are quite different.

Thanks for all your help guys.  I have decided to keep my Ranger instead of buying the Skeeter.  I really like the way the Ranger drives and like the way it fishes even better.  I am sure I could get a few more MPH out of that Skeeter, but I am generally not in a big hurry.  I dont plan to try to beat the guys with the 250s anyway.

He does have a manual jackplate I'm pretty sure it is on the 2nd highest setting. I think he could get an extra mph or two by trimming it up more but he's scared of chine walk.

ee_nerd

Would you mind measuring the distance from the pad to the prop?  I am just curious.  It is hard to believe that 10HP nets him 10MPH.  I am willing to bet the majority of his pick up over mine has to be with the jackplate.  I may have to invest in one now.
