Booya!  Now that is what I'm talking about!  Da Man Chris is in the house!  We just upgraded the place.  Guys,  Chris has mad boat setup skills,  can drive his PII/200Merc with the best of them,  is a top tier mechanic and is one heckuva a fisherman.  He schooled me when we met for day on the lake on Aliceville (Bama/Mississippi boarder).  Chris,  glad to see you make over here.   Here's to you ya!   ~beer~

Thanks for that flattering intro Tom!! Just dropping in to check yall out. Looks like you've got several guys from the  BCB site here and some new faces too.

Tom, with you moderating this it will be another great tool for BCB owners and future BCB owners. Glad to see you doing it.

What have you been up to Bama? I see you're still ridin in that P4. I've always wanted to ride in one on ruff water.
I need to pick your brain on a good insurance co. for boats.

I'm gonna be over yalls way for the day on Sunday to watch my little brother graduate from UAB. I wish I could come a day early and hook up with you guys to go fishing, but I've got a tourney on Aliceville on Saturday.

I don't have as much time to spend on these forums b/c of recent projects but I'm about to get my biggest  one wrapped up. So I'll be dropping in. See yall.

lo How have you been Bill? How are you liking it back up north?

Billius46

I've been well. I love it back here.  It's where I belong I think. I'm back fishing the lakes I've fished for over 30 years. I know how to catch some fish up here. lo

I'll take you for a ride when you have more time. I am still running the PIV. I can't afford all those new rigs like Flyswatter. ;D

It hard to hide your money when you've got it like Fly does!

I'm just waiting on the dual power poles and the new 175 SHO to be put on Flyswatter's FTD. ~beer~

You guys are so bad but I still like ya!   >:D ~roflmao ~beer~

Now a 175 SHO has potential and I will look into that in the late fall but I am on the look out for a used 16' G3 Jet boat 60/40 Four stroke.  After a few trips in a jet boat on jet boat only accessible water will spoil you.  Fishing virgin water will make you take pause when fishing pressure laden reservoirs.  3 hours and getting a minimum 15 bass every time out is intoxicating.   ~shhh  However,  I'm BassCat strong and still enjoy my Coosa Chain Lakes.

I would love to have one of those little jet drives also. It would open a lot of doors for catching big spots on current breaks around here in the summer time.

Bama96

Tom I think a regular motor can be modified to a jet. So if you find a tin rig in good shape see what it would cost to got to a jet lower unit. Be sure the tin rig will be big enough for me because I will be going with you. I want some of those 5lb Spots you been catching.

16' footers works great.  That's what my soon to be son in-law has.  He has a 60/40 Yamaha two stroke and we motor up to 25 mph on the GPS.  Really cool way of fishing.  Lower Unit is replaced with jet intake foot.  It's slightly above the hull of the boat, sucks in and jets out water like a sea-do.  No BS, we run in water so skinny you can feel the boat scraping the sandy bottom of the river.

Chris,  you be right about big spots, current breaks and deeper 6' holes.  Holds them in there like they're in a barrel.  Throw what you want you gonna catch something.  Bobby went up river off of Lake Martin yesterday and caught eight 8-10" size SMALLMOUTH Bass!!!!  He sent me the pics.  Wow!  Never thought I'd see that in Lake Martin water.  Only in a jet boat.

I have fished in one of those jet boats before for some Smallmouth in real skinny water.  It is a lot of fun and you are right Fly, you are running in such shallow water you can see the crawfish flipping you off when you drive by...   ~roflmao
