My trim has stopped working over the winter, hoping i can unhook, clean off any corrosion and it will work, but was going to take it out to a  small body of water I know real well. Should my motor still run if the trim does not? Its only a 25 so I can lift and put it back down by hand for the time being.

As long as the corrosion isn't on the power cables running to the battery, then starter will work if trim won't. It's not going to hurt if you try to turn it over real fast to see if motor is getting any power. Just don't let it run. Start it and turn off.

So running it would mess it up?

Sorry. Let me clarify. You can try it in your driveway without putting it on the muffs. Just start it and then turn off quickly. Or you can take to lake and try it. I was trying to save you a trip.

I have the boat at our house in delaware, and theres a ton of ponds within 10 minutes, so i wanted to get out and run it anyway, run the batteries, and mess with electronics. Thanks!
