Here is my first attempt on redoing a redeye shad that was peeling. My clearcoat wasnt dry after 6 hrs. of drying time so I hung it from a paper clip and put it in the oven ~b~ on lowest setting. Won't do that again lol. Bait swelled up a bit at the back on top and bottom, the reason for the flaw that you see at the top right. But going to slap some kvd triple grips on it and give it a try. I also swapped out the red eyes for yellow, (personal preference). I used "spray bombs" automotive paint on top and bottom with some greenish yellow fingernail polish and mixed in some Decoart "glamour dust" in the clearcoat.

Bigbassman, I was using EnviroTex Lite and measured using a metered shot glass. I used one teaspoon of resin to one teaspoon of hardner like the directions said and let it cure on the kitchen counter top using my drying wheel. I think I need to have a light bulb facing toward my drying wheel for better results. I have to admit this is very addictive refinishing old scraped up and peeling hard baits.

Here is a great tutorial that Fatfingers posted on TU, about using etex. It was very helpful when I first started using it.

BigBassMan, thanks for the link and I do like the idea of letting the Envirotex sit for ten minutes before using. I hope my next project turns out much better. I buy my acid' brushes at harbor freight in bulk so I just throw away after using instead of taking a risk of trying to clean with acetone. Thanks again bud.
