FROZEN! NOOOO!!!!! so looks like what i wanted to do isn't going to happen. yea i know theres ice fishing but the ice isn't that strong sought to hold me. just strong enough to mock me and my bass fishing needs. ~xyz

Same problem here. Crazy winter. Normally we would have ice safe enough but one day it snows the next it rains. Told the wife today if I don't get my fishing fix soon its off to Florida for a couple weeks for me.

I'm from Pomme De Terre Lake in Missouri, but I'm in South South Texas at the moment. The wife and I went to Falcon Lake last yesterday and this morning. Kind of a slow day as we only caught around 20, 3 to 5 lbers yesterday and 30, 5 to 6 lbers this morning. Was cold too, temp was 50 degrees this morning.  lo

Dodge631

20 fish?! thats a lot for me lol. great yield. i just want to go fishing now lmao.

Dodge631

Do you have any moving water around you? I used to live on the Canadian border for years and have always found some open water somewhere. If you are close to the Mississippi I just watched a show where they catching walleyes below a damn last year when it was really cold near Carthersville, MO and I used to live over there and had no idea there were walleyes in that part of the River.

Where there is a will there is a way.

When I lived in Vermont I used to make a trip to the river and cast below damns when the temp was -20 just to get over the cabin fever and never got skunked, frost bite, but not skunked. lo

I understand and feel your pain...

(you too Baron!  sounds like you're in excellent health this year...at least hoping so.)

I know exactly what you are saying.  Everything here is frozen solid and temps are hovering either just above or just below 0.  On top of that the snow and the drifts are piled up high.  Guess this is why around this time every year I head to Florida for a couple months.  In fact the countdown to my leaving is at 12 days.  ~gf

The ponds are finally frozen but they've been generating plenty at the power plant down south. Water was in the low 60's at the outlet Monday when I was down there. Fish weren't biting great but it's a lot better than sitting at home wishing!

Dodge631

true. this weekend here it is going to warm up. can't wait.
