Might try and make it then. Is it at the same landing the ABA was at? I don't know crap about that lake. Just like to come and enjoy the company.

Dang, DB, down here, some people get all bent if you don't have fancy enough rims on your trailer.  Just kidding.  Most people do require a live well though; and I don't mean a stringer hanging over the side of your boat!

cmegee

well it does have a livewell. just no fancy rims... lo lo lo

See now as a local tourney director I have all that covered. Remember, when my boat was new it was labeled Bass Boat. So it does have a livewell with fresh water pump, spray bar, overflow drain, etc. I also have a spare that I can put in the boat that plugs into an outlet with a aerator in it ;)

DB I don't know of a club that has a rule against it but there are a lot of clubs.  The times I've seen it listed it was a safety call for those running the event or circuit.  Was told it was dangerous to do a blast off with 18 to 21ft boats running 150's and up blasting past a smaller boat with only tiller control.

That I can understand, in a case like that I would just waive my takeoff position... for my own safety lo

If I can get the trolling motor to work, that''s what I'll do. just ask to leave last

iClass

Chris, there may be someone with a back seat up there...We could share a ride if you want...I think you are just around the corner from me.

cmegee

Not too far. I'm not sure I'll get to stay all day though. Appreciate the offer, but would hate to have to leave early and put someone in a bind.

iClass

Not a problem...I'm only stayin for the fishin'  Got to make a deliver some Rods up there anyway.  Plus It won't hurt to show off the truck...Need a U.B. Sticker...!!!

cmegee

I ran a tiller handle for a long time, of course it was a 25 hp and 40hp and it never bothered me to get passed up...I found other ways to get out front of everyone, even if it was only for a short while...No Guts, No Glory!!!!  I have actually been thinking about getting another Aluminum boat with a surface drive motor.

I'm gonna be on a quest for a 25 2 stroke here soon. My lil old Merc was made before kill switches and just doesn't have enough hp for me. A buddy has a 25 on his 14' glass boat and tops out at 25mph, I imagine I can break 30 lo

David, do some looking around and see if you can find a 3 cyclinder Yamaha 25Hp.  They are two stroke and can run a 15/44 aluminum boat in the upper 20's to lower 30's depending on setup and load.  They only made them a few years so will take some looking around.  And they are usually a little more pricey than the standard 2 cyclinder.  My Mercury 25 and Mariner 25 would run 29 with a empty boat and just me in it.  I had a 13P prop on both and also ran a jackplate.
