How would Bama ever make a NC without winning the SEC Championship?? Unless we lose 2 games before the season is over, that ain't happening.

Cause the media wants to see a Bama/LSU rematch. If OU beats OSU, and Oregon beats Stanford this weekend, and Bama/LSU win out then the rematch will more than likely happen. Poor Boise will be left out again.

Gotta love it! I'm glad to have one of the most exciting teams in college football...every week we get a little surprise! Too bad Lee cracked under the extraordinary pressure, but good thing JJ didn't!

JJ is a fighter that's for sure! They'll battle ya til the end then he'll kick ya when you're down! Tough group right there!

I thought they instituted a rule in 2008 for the BCS that you had to win your conference championship to be eligible for the NC. It was because OU lost theirs but made it to the NC against LSU.

Camden

i dont care who wins anymore as long as Saben gets his. ~rant as much as I hate dynasties LSU has a great program.
and all this talk of the SEC and none of the new team in the SEC next year. ;)

It wasn't pretty but it was a win.

GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!  ~c~

fortunately for me, I was interested in that 'other' game going on at the same time.
unfortunately for me, my team lost.

that said, 'the game of the night' was the KSU v OSU game...regardless of NC implications.

Cam, this has and will always be a 'bitter divorce'...nothing personal, but Mizzou is dead to me.  Just like Colorado, Nebraska and aTm...

good luck in that new league by the way.

Camden

oh dont worry guys i know mizzou is gonna get their  :ass kicked. for the first few years they will be the SEC punching bag. LSU would treat them like a D II team lo lo lo lo lo lo

Stoops is sucking the BCS puters butt...and the pollsters....

Saben is my 2nd least favorite coach (Stoops #1) and I wasn't rooting for the "Roll Tide"...but I'm not a fan of Les Miles either. He's the 3rd.... lo

Cheers!!!!+

I bet you do hate Stoops you probably got 55 reasons why you don't like the Sooners Head Coach....Oh that's how many points the Sooners put on Texas this year......

Oklahoma must do a good job of sucking the BCS puters and pollsters...because they have won 7 national championships and Texas has won what 2 or 3.....and have more Big 12 championships than Texas...what 8 to two for Texas...If I was you a Texasan I would hate Oklahoma to   ~roflmao`

Here's a senario for you guys. Let's say just for argument that my Razorbacks win out and beat LSU after Thanksgiving, question 1. who goes to the sec championship, LSU, Alabama or Arkansas? 2. who does that put No. 1 & 2 in BCS, and 3. after beating an top 10 ranked team (and falling a BCS position) this past week (someone please explain that one to me especially after the team that jumped us, beats an unranked team, how do the BCS committee computer gestopho explain that one please, do the Razorbacks fall out of the top 25...

topcat

You want a answer here goes.........( ESPN analyst and the Media )...Arkansas should go to the SEC Championship game....if they beat LSU....I believe they have a chance to beat the tigers because they can spread you out and have speed and multiple receivers on offense.......most of the teams in the SEC put there best players on defense....and try and shut you downand win with filed goals....the Hogs are different...they put their best players on offense because of that they have a great chance of bearting LSU.......GO Sooners

TopCat,
How can I hate a guy or a program who would do something like this:

as for personal reasons...I remember fondly a cool night in 2003 at Arrowhead stadium where a plucky bunch of wildcats ran up against one of those 'teams of the century'...

btw:  the look on toby keith's face still cracks me up to this very day... ;)

you all have some horses and truth be told, some excellent coaches.  Makes it hard to beat you all...

(by the way, we all agree Broyles injury is a tragedy...and I hope you caught the KSU fans wishing your RB (broken leg) well while you 'visited' the Bill)...

Our programs are a long way away from when that 'other 55' Bosworth would lay down on the sidelines.

kidd

Speaking of Mizzou, I'm from Missouri but have never subscribed to the idea that you have to root for the team where you're from.  Nothing against them but since I was a child I've been an LSU and Florida fan and especially like SEC football.  Mizzou's gonna get clobbered down there in football however the basketball team may have a chance.

OU has 7 National Championships

Tex 4

OU has 43 Conf. titles

Tex 30 something...

OU played in the Big 8 and Tex the Southwest Conf.

2 different conf. and different times....

Tex beat OU penty the last few years has OU beaten tex....My dislike of Stoops has nothing to do with Tex. He'd hang 100 on his momma...he's not a classy coach...and generally seems like an A**....Mack is no gentleman per se' but he isn't on Stoops level....

But Tex / OU will always be rivals....

Now that TCU and WV are coming to the conf. maybe they'll breathe some new life into it.

and btw....GO COWBOYS!!!!! ~roflmao

TC,

I hear a 'few' crazy Sooners are wanting Stoops 'out'...

seems to me to be a clear case of 'be careful of what you wish for...'

Didn't they learn how hard it was to get great coaching after Barry retired?  Have they really forgotten? Schnellenberger...Blake..

I don't know if they have forgotten how bad it was after berry and before Stoops .....I don't think he is going anywhere he just got a big contract extension not long ago.......But in Sooner Land that might not mean very much to that Sooner breed and Sooner feed .....Boomer nation........

If Arkansas beats LSU, we will have a situation huh? All three teams would be tied, with Alabama having a tie breaker over Arkansas, LSU having a tie breaker over Bama, and Arkansas having a tie breaker over LSU....Not really sure what would happen in that situation. I would say Arkansas should go b/c they beat the #1 ranked team, but then Bama would be pissed b/c they beat Arkansas.

As far as the rankings go, it crazy but i bet it has something to do with the computer matrix they use, and that Oregons only lost came from LSU (now ranked #1) and Arkansas lost to Bama (now ranked #3). But if that is the case I dont really agree with it, Oregon has only beaten one ranked team (#18, Arizona State, who not even ranked now). Where Arkansas has beaten Texas A&M (#14), Auburn (#15), and SC (#9) (with Auburn and SC still being ranked 20th and 13th respectively). IMO Arkansas is the best  one lost team, and should be ranked 6th.

With all that said GO DAWGS!!!!

the fatal flaw here is that you put all your trust in polls driven by human participants.  polls that are fraught with 'ego' and 'opinion'...to put in nicely.

just watch...if/when you see the talkin heads on the college football shows actually LOBBYING poll voters to move one team over another...you'll know the process for being as flawed as it is...

For me it's easy:  SEC champion goes...(this year)...assuming one team wins out...if that should be a one-loss Arkansas team, why would they be any less 'deserving' than a one loss 'bama team, having jsut beat them head to head (all this is supposition based on supposition)

dallicis

I understand the flaws with the system, a lot of it is based on opinion of people, mine doest matter in rankings, but I was sharing my thoughts.

I agree a one loss SEC chap should go to the title game, Im just curious if the hogs win out, who goes to the SEC championship?

A bunch of "If" thinkin' going on.  My prediction... LSU vs OSU  LSU winning by 14pts and once again taking the Crystal football to Baton Rouge.  The rest of the very talented field...Makes for some great bowl games!

Just sayin'   ~sweat
