Huntington here, but kind of a newbie.   I fish the Delaware in Poconos as I have a cabin there but haven't done much fishing on Long Island yet.

cool, i grew up in huntington. i went to Huntinton High school, lived there till  1988 then moved out to PT. Jefferson and now live in selden.  do you have a boat. also check out my Bass club page on the Club forum, Twin Forks Rod and Reel. nice to meet you and i hope there maybe more  from LI.
