Had a rough one on Cotile today. The partly cloudy skies and decreasing winds was yet another missed forecast by my weatherman.  Blue Bird and North West winds at about 15 to 20 all day. :'( I took my nephew and it wasn't the best day to be fishing to say the least. We did not get a bite, nota, zero, nothing.I'm really glutten for punishment because I'm taking him to Chicot tomorrow. Kids are amazing though. Even though we did not get a bite he was still fired up and he can't wait until tomorrow. Forecast for tomorrow is decreasing winds and very warm. It will probably snow. lo

Well I hope you have better luck tomorrow, but I bet it means the world to your nephew.

Jimmy and myself pre-fished Cotile yesterday.  We managed to catch two decent fish.  Going to be a tough tournament on Saturday.  Temps are supposed to be in the 30's.  Can't say where or what we used to catch these fish but they really like the cocahoe minnows in Cotile.

I also fished Cotile yesterday.  Started the day by letting my boat drift away fro m the bank while I parked the truck. Got a bit wet retrieving the boat.  Good news is the fact that it rained most of the day did not bother me since I was already wet.

Like the Browns I caught one decent fish.  Something better change or its going to be a long day Saturday.

Yep. Susie and I went Sunday. I caught 1 fish and it was nothing to brag about. There's a front coming through late Friday night, early Saturday morning. Here it is typical first tournament of the year, strong winds, cold, and post frontal conditions. It never fails. :'(

Well the tournament went better than we expected. Kevin and I took second place team and Kevin took second individual. We had lots of fish weighed in, a welcome surprise considering no one was doing good prefishing. Kevin and I boated 10 fish. I had a limit of 5 and Kevin had 4 and one short. We caught our fish on rattle traps, brush hogs, c-rigged stud fries, and finess worms. We fished one area all day. The key was grass, we stayed in a small pocket that had grass and we just worked it all day long. Our team weight was 5 fish going 8lbs 12 oz. Nothing huge just a solid bag of fish. The winning stringer was just over 10lbs. Congrats to Shannon Thibodeaux and Chris Chandler for bringing in the winning stringer.
