Here at Ultimatebass.com we want to give everyone a place to brag about their fishing machines. So let us have it, tell us all about your rigs, the modifications you have done to them, show us pictures, and tell us why you love your boat so much!

I have heard great things about the speed and stability of a FastCat bass boat. Looking forward to seeing some great new threads and pictures here :toot:

OK Mike, I'll start it off!
The concept of the Fastcat came from the current speeds in the bass and flats boats of today. This was the same concept from the late 70's in offshore racing. The V-bottom hulls were reaching
speeds that were hard to maintain for 200+ miles. That was were the Catamaran came in. My father, was one of the first to do this in the USA bringing a cat over from Europe. The cat was much more stable and safe to race at high speeds. The cats soon dominated the sport in the USA as they already had done in Europe. The rest is history. The V bottoms had to be separated to there own class. They just could not compete on the same playing field. This is still true to this day.
The Fastcat is a true catamaran. It is a miniature racing cat designed for fishing. The speed and stability are unbelievable. Even in VERY rough conditions, the speeds are maintained at a safe level. It's something everone should try, the boat speaks for itself. Just ask anyone who owns one or has been in one what it was like. As for fishability, all I can say is perfect! Storage, I still can't fill it up! One flaw is if you let your wife or girlfriend drive it, you might have to get another one! :roll2:

I don't know much about the hull design but being a true catamaran is the cornering happered at all?

What's the hull weight on the Fastcat?

Hull and deck are 1150lbs. rigged around 2300, depending on accessories. Weight is not a really big issue with the cat. With a Verado we picked up speed over a 250 xs. Most other hulls have lost it. The boat will turn as hard as you want to. No sliding or hopping, even in rough water. It will throw ya out if ya want to turn that hard.

Obviously with this type of hull design, putting two guys on the bow both on the same side shouldn't cause any tilt in the boat  :-\ should make for an awesome tournament boat  ~c~

I have seen a couple pictures of the boats, do you have one of the trailor that is required for this type of hull?

You can fish as many people as you can fit on one side, It's like a floating dock.

Mike,
There are a few pics in the gallery. You can get the idea of the trailer there. It has two bunks in the tunne. It's very easy to load, just dive it on up. 8) Have a good night!

what do they cost roughly?  The site isnt very helpful except on the regular price.  Im looking for a fast boat but dont have a number in mind.  I'll trade some speed for reliability.

J10B,

Probably the reason why you don't see pricing information on the website is because Fast Cat's are basically a custom built boat!  This isn't like any other bassboat you've ever seen for a number of reasons.

First of all, it's built to racing specifications.  I just returned from the Fast Cat factory and I was impressed with the construction.  You wouldn't believe how these things are built!  The attention to detail is like no other boat I've seen.

It's little things that add up, like the hatch covers have aluminum blocks glassed into the deck, then they're drilled and tapped so that the lids aren't just screwed on with sheet metal screws through the fiberglass.  They're bolted to the drilled/tapped blocks glass bedded into the deck!  Everything is reinforced where it needs to be with strong, lightweight materials so the boat is strong, yet lightweight.

Trust me, this is a fast boat.  I've been in many different boats, but have never experienced one that ran like these.  And, because of the cat hull, they shine in rough water.

But while I am a performance nut, I'm first and foremost a fisherman.  My trolling motor typically gets more of a workout than the outboard.  And the fishability is great.  Name me one other bassboat that can have four adults standing on the gunnel, all fishing the same side of the boat, with NO LISTING!!!  It is an unbelievably stable fishing platform.  We fished four people out of this boat and never felt cramped for space.

The wide gunnels of the boat allowed us to walk completely around the boat and the front/rear decks are plenty big.

I was concerned about the storage on this boat, as my old Coosa 216 had an abundance of storage.  Trust me on this, everything I had in my Coosa will fit into the Fast Cat with plenty of room to spare!  I was in awe when I watched FastCatFire open the rear hatch and drop a 24 quart cooler in, and there was STILL ROOM :shocking:  While FastCatFire doesn't carry as much gear as I do, being a multi-species guide, I can't imagine filling up this boat with gear.  The big problem that I foresee is remembering where I put everything! ::)

This is not however a boat for everyone.  This is a boat for those that are looking for the ultimate in ride, storage and fishability.  It's different looking, it looks NOTHING like a traditional bassboat.  I think it looks fantastic, but there are those that don't like it's looks.  Personally, I think they're nuts, but that's my opinion. ~shhh

If you are willing to spend the $$$ for the dependability, attention to detail, fit, finish, the ability to RUN in rough water and still remain dry and comfortable, and to blow away 99.999% of the other boats out there, then you need to talk to Team Fast Cat.

There's a lot of good boats out there, but there's only one FAST CAT! ~shade

I can't wait for the guys to finish mine!

I got a chance to check out a Fast Cat, and really like it, maybe someday.  :(
I was wondering, do they have any affiliation to Flats Cats?
I have seen a few of these around the salt flats down here and was wondering.

Im trying to decide between an allison FastCat and bullet.  Im not in a rush but I was just wondering hte ranges for pricing.  Seeing most decent 21ft boats are in the 30-40 range I was wondering how much more the fast cat is.  I know the bullets are really close to that and engine rating is what determines the final pricing.

Sabertooth

We do make a flats version. But it is still a FASTCAT, it only has a few other options. Polling platform, Lenco trolling system, recessed pole holder. Everything else is the same.  ~c~
