Next up is Cypress, on June 11.  We will be meeting at the spillway launch, assuming it is accessible.  I plan to go to the park on Saturday to get my lake sticker and check everything out.  If you have been to Cypress lately, we would love to hear about the conditions out there.  I will be posting launch times early next week.

It looks like I'll be able to make this one guys.  I haven't been able to fish these for a while considering ABA and Bassmaster weekend Series.  Finally an open weekend.  See you all out there.   ~cf

Man I'll tell you one thing, you sure as heck don't have to worry about Gullo on this one. I took him out there yesterday morning we caught probably 15-20 and I can only say we because he did actually catch ONE... that's it ONE fish :-\ I put him on fish after fish after fish after fish, showed him where to cast. I'd even cast in myself and shake the fish off and let him cast in and he just couldn't boat a fish.  If I didn't have a net with a 10 ft extension I don't know that he would have caught the one he did.... Poor guy can someone that is good at teaching help him, I'm not very good at it apparently :'(

Sounds like we need to change the name of the club, since neither Gullo or I can catch fish.  We can call it No Luck fishing club.  Or, with all of the boat issues members (including Ron) seem to have, we can call it Broke Boats fishing club.  For me, maybe Broken Spirit fishing club!
I hope to get out there tomorrow after t-ball (yeah, I know, it will be noon and hot), to see if I can at least identify some areas to fish next week.

I really don't have much to say about this!?! Nothing went right for me!! It was just one of those days and mike made sure I knew it every second!!! I had probably 15 fish blow up on a pop r and didn't catch one!!! Fish slapped a crankbait all a few times and only caught one of them?!? I sure hope I shook this bug and left it out there!! BFL tomorrow wish mr luck I need it bad this week.

Launch time for Saturday's tournament is 6:00am.  We will be launching from the public ramp near the spillway.  I plan to be there around 5:15 to get people checked in.  Everyone needs to be back by 2:30 for the weigh in.  Hope everyone has a good time!

P.S.  I was out on Cypress last Saturday, and the water temp was running around 92.  Please make sure your livewells are fully operational, and bring some ice or some other treatment for the fish, so they aren't fully cooked before they are weighed!

Lawguy513

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!  Remeber to have your lake sticker.  We are launching from the spillway launch.  I understand the weekend rate is $3.50, so be sure to bring your launch fee.  Should be a great time!

I need directions from Monroe please

Lawguy513

Easiest way from Monroe - I-20 west to I-220 in Bossier.  West to Airline.  North on Airline to Linton Road.  Keep on Linton, passing over Black Bayou.  You will come up to a grocery store on your right, and will turn right there, onto Parks Road.  Stay on Parks.  You will come to a sharp curve in the road, and the launch will be on your left right in that curve.  If you go over the spillway bridge, you sent too far.  The lauch area has a yellow metal pole "fence" around it.

Broskee

launch fee is 3.50 for weekends, and the sticker for the lake is 15 dollars.. yes it is another screwing by parks and rec but we have to pay it to play~!

JMGullo

Well at least our money is going to good use. Talk to the park ranger last week and he did say they have just released a bunch of fingerlings in both lakes just a couple of weeks ago.

Broskee

nice hopefully those florida strains will get big fast :D

We are going to miss you Jim.  Wife and I hit Cypress for a while this afternoon and had about 7 lbs on two fish!

Broskee

I have to say congrats for Mike he and his bro finally broke in at broke sticks  :)..... If and only if those fish hadn't died, oh well that is how it goes sometimes.
