We were down on Warrior River (Alabama) last week catching the heck out of cats using noodles (like jug fishing).  Big problem was that around dark we couldn't see the noodles and ended up losing several of them.  A guy across the river had an interesting way of keeping up with his.  He had some kind of light stuck in the end of the noodles.  I'm guessing he was using glow sticks since the lights appeared to be green.  Just wondering if anyone has ideas or suggestions of how to light a pile of noodles somewhat inexpensively?   I want to fish with at least 20... maybe 40 and of course, I don't want to spend any more than I have to for this project.

This is what we use on ours...he ships quick and is great to do business with.

aw man the glow sticks would be awesome.  I have white reflective tape around the top of mine.  You have to use a spot light though, but they really shine bright when the light hits them.  But the glow sticks would be great cause you could see fish hitting them and see all your jugs without the light shining on them.

Thanks guys... I'm really a tight wad and really hated to spend the money for something I'll probably use just one time/night then it's worthless, even for a few pennies.... But, then again, I've thrown away hundreds of dollars worth of lures!  Since I'm out at night with a light when night fishing it may be to my advantage to do the reflective tape thing... but one thing for sure, the glow sticks would be easier to see when the cats drag the noodles up into lilly pads and weeds.
I did order 100 of them from Wild Wolf to give 'em a shot.  Looks like I'm going to spend this evening rigging some noodles from old one's I've scavenged around the lake.  Sure wish I had those glowsticks or some reflective tape to take with me.  Looks like we're in for severe weather tomorrow so no telling if I'll even get to fish tomorrow.... When we go down there to work we work all kinds of crazy hours and do what we want when we want.... may be up all night working and sleep/fish all day...

The way we use them is to stick the glow stick 4-5 inches into the end of the noodle so that when something is on the line and the noodle is standing up & jumping around, the glow stick is waving around in the dark...it is pretty neat to see!

How about getting some LED fishing floats? Reusable and still bright enough to be seen in the dark. Another idea would be to put some of this paint on them, charge them with a bright flashlight (or sunlight) and the paint will glow for up to 24 hours. I have some that I was experimenting with -- I put the bottle in front of a bright light at night, and it was still glowing bright green the next morning when I got up for work. Pretty neat stuff, but pricey. Try some of the LED floats to start out... :)

Thanks for the tips & suggestions.  I don't want to do anything where I'd have to be constantly buying batteries.  I've got several "Night Bobby's" and they're a pain when the batteries run down... and price has gone up!
The paint is pricey but if the noodles get lots of use the paint would be less expensive for a 1/2 pint of it than a few hundred glowsticks that get only one night's use.

I build lighted juglines. IT HAS AN LED LIGHT ON TO AND IT ONLY COMES ON WHEN YOU HAVE A FISH.it is patented and my website will be up soon.if you want more info email or call 832,330,4969 .

Very interesting item and concept.  I would think the lighted jug would be a tad more useful if it had one color light for when it has a fish on it and another just so you can find it in the darkness.

Thanks Mike.  I didn't catch that but I see that sort of stuff on all kinds of forums where it's obvious people are tooting their own horns claiming their mousetrap is better than everyone else's.  It won't belong before I turn another decade.  I've been trying to learn how to fish all of my life and it appears now that my son is teaching me well.....

Well if you figure out how to catch them every time, I'll buy your dinner while you help me. We learn everyday, that's what makes it so fun ~c~ Keep fishing with your son while you can ~c~ ~c~

I will follow this in next time. And LED is the better choice because you have told.

I found a fishing jug noodle online that has a battery operated bright led attached to top of it. It only comes on when the jug noodle tilts 45 degrees or more. I bought a few and you can see these bad boys 100's of yards at night. Beats the heck out of taped on glow sticks and it even comes with protector caps with reflector tape on each end. The website is http://www.katkandle.com check them out.

You would think that the foam noodles would be made in a glow color. I have some PVC foam fly popper bodies that are glow in the dark. You simply charge them with a light & they glow green. The company that I got them from is no longer in business however.   :(
