What's up with cross this year? I've never fished the TNT's until this year but I know that the weights are usually up higher then 13 pounds and 8 pounds. Can anybody shed some light on what is up with it this year?

The slot needs to be removed, the fish need to be kept and they need to remove the carp that ate all the grass that made the lake fish better. Just my opinion.

It all depends on the year....I have won with as little as 8 pounds and seen 26 pounds+ win one.  Just get out there with the objective of catching 10 pounds.  If you can do that you will do very well through out the year.  And if you are fishing and complaining about 8 pounds winning then why did you not catch more?????? Conditions conditions conditions and they are tough.....that will make the game.......Cross is tough right now and will get worse though out the circut.   Just hang in there..DO NOT GET SKUNKED!!!!! and you will do fine.  Good luck KJ and keep on casting.

Past 2 years I've not seen good weight bought in until usually May or so. First couple always have low weights.

Cross is very deceiving at times to say the least. Last year I thought it would take 20 pounds to win the first one. Weather conditions were perfect the bite had been great. I had to miss it because of other obligations but couldn't wait to hear how they busted it up.... . 8 pounds with two fish won????.... Late March early April? can you say post spawn... Go crappie fishing if you want to catch one every other cast.

Thats what I figured was going on. I hope that the fishing picks up quick because post spawn is my weakest period.

I have not seen more than 15lbs win one, with the exception of maybe 1 or 2, in over 2 years. If you catch something in every tournament, you will place well overall, but that doesn't get you anything.

Ive seen it take 15+ to win a 2 fish tournament out there. And Ive finished 2nd in a TNT with 5lbs. Ya just never know.
