Our next event takes us to Grand Bayou, Coushatta, on April 2nd. The 7 Pound Pot is up to $480 and should be won by someone during this tournament. Hopefully we'll have a great turnout for this one, I'm looking forward to fishing it...it should be a bed-fishing extravaganza  ~c~, hope to see everyone there!

There is still plenty of time to qualify for our Classic.  Counting this tournament, there are 5 events left to qualify.  Fishing should be good this upcoming weekend, come join us!

Todd...got another question...my son/partner may or may not be able to get 5 tournaments in...I should be able to with no problem but still have a few conflicts to work out...

Anyway...if I have read the rules correctly he will also have to fish 5 tournaments to qualify for the final...is that correct?

That's correct, Scottie.  We all qualify individually, each member has to fish a minimum of 5 tournaments to qualify.  We also have one "buy-in" where they can pay for a tournament without having to fish it, we had a few members not fish on day 2 (on Toledo Bend)...so they used their buy-in for that event.  If it's any consolation to you, last year my partner didn't fish enough tournaments to qualify...so I fished with another member, who's partner also didn't get enough in.

Also, remember that your son fished Hosston with us...which counts as a qualifier.  And once he becomes a member, he will also have a "guest" pass to use if he wants to introduce someone new to our circuit.  If there is a conflict with Grand Bayou, for you, there is a guy advertising in the LA Poormans website looking for a non-boater partner.  :-*

John could also advertise there, looking for a back seat and could qualify by fishing with another member...many times my current partner can't make it and he is more than welcome to fish with me, when that situation occurs.

Thanks Todd...should be able to make the rest except the night tournament so that should get him the 5 needed......if needed we may use Cypress/BB for a buy-in...probably be skipping that one....

Conflicts are with my other trails...Over 50 and Broke Sticks...last three are all on the same date...

Right now I'm heading for Shumpert to see my new grandbaby girl that will be born sometime today...daughter is in labor now............finally....:)

Todd, do we have to do anything different when we bring a guest or just let you know when signing in? I will most likely have one this weekend.

FishinSteelersFan

After you have fished one "paid" tournament, then you have a guest pass...otherwise, both parties have to pay membership fees at registration.  If you have not used your guest pass, just tell me at registration that you're using it and I will make a note of it on the entry sheet.

I took off work today, to check out the lake and do a little prefishing, before the front moved through.  I got on the water a little after 9:00am and the water temp was 62F and was up to 65.2F when I left at 1:45pm.  I boated 8...5 slots/2 overs (17 1/2" and 19") and one under 13 1/2"...missed a hawg first thing in the morning.  Good color to the water and saw beds all over the place and a few with fish on them.  If your heading North of the bridge, watch out...some shallow water up there (got stuck a couple of times) but managed to get the boat off without getting my feet wet.  I think were going to see some big sacks come in for this one...can't wait until Saturday morning!

Todd,

Went back to launch today and did some swimming and found my prop.  Did not want to spend $400 for new one.  Can't explain what happened just spun off rubber hub insert.  Prop was undamaged in any way.  hate I missed fishing tournament appeared the fish were biting

That's strange, but I'm glad to hear that you found the prop.  It didn't occur to me, until after you had driven off, that I had an open back seat that you could have fished with me.  I tried to call you, but your phone number wasn't on my phone's memory any longer.  The fish were biting, I caught lots of slots and had an under and a 3 1/2 pound over in the livewell when I hooked myself in the hand, had to cut loose my 2 fish and drive to the clinic in Coushatta and have it removed.  Hopefully one of these days you'll get to fish a tournament with us. ;)
