Has anyone been rigging the Boob Tube that was posted a few months back and what results have you experienced? Any changes to the rig that seemed to improve the bite or hook-ups?  I've yet to try it despite having about a 1/2 dozen tubes modified due to fishing heavy cover so far this year but I expect to be hitting some flats tomorrow.  Any input is appreciated.

My g/f and I worked the Boob Tube on the flats in Calling Panther on Friday for about 2 hours but we didn't get a bite.  Nobody else on the flats did any better so I doubt it was the rig.

For those not familiar with the rig, I'll try to add how this rig is made from home later.

What I did find, since this was my first attempt at fishing a tube in such a strange way, is that you need to glue the "plug" into the tube a full 360 degrees and the plug should be just a tad oversized for the tube. Both help provide a better seal. The plug will pull out of the tube if the size and glue isn't right.

The first time I dropped the rig into the water, I was pretty excited. The trapped air in the tube causes it to float upright with the tentacles dancing below it.  Water will eventually get in (probably from my poor glue job) but can be squeezed out.

I'll rig up some more with more care and add some ball rattles which may help floatation a bit.  It really IS an intrigueing set-up.

For those that don't fish tubes at all, they add another dimension to your arsenal. They were absolutely KILLER on Susquehanna River Smallmouth and have taken some sweet LM's for me.
