Anyone know a good place to stay near Shreveport/Bossier next year?  This year was easy because I was able to just drive to NOLA Sunday for the weigh in and show.  Next year, I will have more people with me and we plan on staying the entire weekend.

Any of the casino hotels would be just a short drive down the parkway to get to the weigh in if they are having it at the CenturyTel Center again. Could give Red River South Marina a call and see if they have any cabins still available also.

As stated, any of the river boats is a good choice. The marina will most likely be booked already. The down town Hilton is nice too. Hampton inn in Bossier City is nice also.

Just a reminder on the casinos. Book early. They fill up almost every weekend. My wife is a hotel supervisor and she is always commenting on how busy they are on weekends

If you are military you can stay in the hotel here on Barksdale AFB which is literaly 3 miles from the weigh in. If not there is a very nice La Quinta INN here in town.
You cant catch fish, if you don't get your worm wet.

The Bodcau WMA has a very nice camp ground but it is about 30 to 45 min from the weigh in. It's 12 dollars a night. It's on the water. Really clean bath house and restrooms. And is in the woods.

I would recommend Lake Bistineau State Park. That is where my parents always stay when they come to visit from Iowa with their fifth wheel camper. They actually use the shower and laundry facilities to prevent having to move their trailer all the time to drain it. No complaints from them and they have stayed there at least a half a dozen times.
