That's one of our problems here, the water gets so hot that the fish get as sluggish as they do in the winter. I've seen water in shallows at 101 and average lake temps at 98.  ~sweat ~sweat But I'd much rather deal with hot water than frozen water

I'm form Elk Grove.  I fished Mazonia last year for the first time about 3 times.  Great area, I'm sure you local guys know what pits to fish.  With so many different areas it can take all year to fish them all.

DBrooke

Yeah it takes a while to get them down. Trying to have the Midwest rally here this year just need enough votes (hint hint)

Same here in the FL panhandle. Right now most of the ponds and lakes in my area are in the 63-68ºF range.

Michigan's rule is no bass fishing until the middle of April so I am forced to fish Indiana until then.  I would die if I was too far north to go to Indiana and bass fish until then.  The water is still under 40 on the open spots I can find and the fish look like statues in the water.

I would die if I was so far North I "had" to go to Indiana,.......the water on Lake Verete today was nice,.....

Heck I found 70 deg water today in Illinois.  But it was also on a cooling lake lo  My brother and his buddy fished a lake that was about 7 miles from us and they were seeing 50 for water temps.  Nice part of shallow lakes.
