I was looking for a solution rather than wrapping a loop on this will get done to a few of my reals that didn't cost me to much......thanks for the tip

 I used a small zip tie and a mid size barrel swivel.I laid the swivel  on my rod just above the upper part of my rod handle.took the zip tie wrapped around rod and through the bottom eye of swivel.tighten slightly careful not to over tighten.then wrap some duct tape around and over your rod, swivel and zip tie.trim tape to expose the upper eye of the swivel.good to go replace tape as needed.
