Just got mine last week,     looking to see what folks have done to upgrade, etc....

TC in Spfld

I took delivery on a 2010 175 TXW last March.  Before I pulled it off the dealer's lot I replaced the Motor Guide with 55# 12 volt MK Maxxum, the Lowrance on the console with a Humminbird 778c and a 586c Humminbird up front.  In addition, I elected to go with the 50hp 4 stroke vice the 2 stroke.  You've probably noticed that many advocate maxing out the outboard and upgrading to a 24 volt troller.  Won't argue against that.  It just comes down to what you want/need your boat to do.  Myself, I don't tournament fish and as I have close access to some good bass water a day on the lake for me is 3 or 4 hours a trip.  The MK has done everything I needed it to do and I believe I'm on my 3rd tank of gas.  All in all I'm a happy Tracker owner.

Bought a 2011 175 txw recently.  Went with the 75 hp Optimax. Upgraded to 24v and a 70 lb trolling motor.  Moved the stock fish finder to the bow and put a Lowrance elite 5 at the console. Oh and a cover.  Still waiting to get it on the water, another 2 weeks or so and all the ice will be gone.  Getting pretty antsy with a new boat in the driveway and nowhere to take it.

Picking up my 2011 175 TXW this week. Just went and saw it today. It took months to get it here. Went with the 60 hp four stroke. I will leave it stock for a few months, but will likely go with a Minn Kota with iPilot, and and HDS system eventually.

What I need to know, is what covers people are using. Has anyone tried the rope ratchet cover that Tracker sells?

10x20 auto shelter from shelter logic and get the vents for the front and back it fits good :)

I bought the trailerable cover with the boat from BPS it was great, it lasted 5 years but now I need a new one ~rant What I didn't know was that I should have used a canvas sealer to slow down the UV rays. Mine is just real weak and tears easy now.. It was worth every bit of the 35,000 pennies I paid for it.

The 2011 is rated for 75, at least mine is and the other 2011's i looked at were rated at 75.

I went with the 90 hp Optimax and believe me it was worth it!  Not too happy with the trolling motor and would recommend something bigger/better, but I'm going to trade for a fish/ski Nitro soon to accomodate the family more, so I will upgrade trolling motor on it to a 24 volt with remote steering.  I would have gone with hydraulic steering had I known how much torque affects the steering too.

I have this boat and am interested in mounting a Humminbird second station kit at the bow. I wonder if the fellow who put the fishfinder that comes with the boat in the bow would comment on the wiring.

I have the same boat except not the 24 Volt system.  I kept my 55# troling motor off my old boat and it seems to do just fine.  Could use a little more power though.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the boat.  Definitely gets pushed around in the wind but the 70# trolling motor helps some.  Glad I went with the 75 instead of the 60 for sure.  Now if the weather would cooperate a little more....

I hear ya.  Was out this weekend twice.  Sat. was windy and the trolling motor did pretty good, about as good as on my other boat.  Yesterday was nice to be out.  Water temps were in high 40's, 49 being the warmest reading.

Im in the DSM area. Water temps are about the same.  This cold snap really shut things down.  Hopefully next week it'll get back on track.

I've had mine planed out with three guys and gear and had the speedo reading 44MPH.  I wonder what a SS prop would do?   ;D

I would bet a SS prop would get you a few more mph. I have a SS vengence prop on my PT 175 with a 60hp bigfoot merc, hit 44mph once on the speedo, 42 is what I get consistantly at WOT.

I've got the factory 13X19p aluminum prop.  If I got SS, not sure what pitch etc to get to keep RPM but gain some speed.  Not sure if the money on SS is worth the extra couple MPH unless you could get a prop for a reasonable price.  I have a SS siting around from my old boat, not at all the right size, but only really used 5 times.  Wondering if I could trade it.  Hmmmm.. ::)

I've been wondering the same thing.  I'd like to find someone that has the same boat setup that's upgraded their prop and see what kind of performance they've gotten from it.  Not sure if it's money well spent.  I'll probably go the rest of this year with the stock prop, already spent enough this year already.

Brummo

I feel the same way.  All of the sudden you need to have this-n-that for the new boat. ;D
I bought mine at Ted's Boatorama in Rock Island, great bunch of people.  I guess all I'd really have to do is ask what they have put on these boats before, I am sure they have put a few SS's on these boats before.

the boat is light so i would get a high pitch prop they will try to talk you into a low pitch but you want be happy i would go one or two pitch under the highest and you should be there  ~beer~ drinking a little more gas but not much

The Factory ratchet cover is the darn best cover on the market...
i have one on my 2008 Pro Team 175TXW.... getting faded but
works great and easy to put on and hold tight going down the road..
also easy to put on even when tied to a dock....
cost twice the price of others but 4 times the cover and worth every penny....
a note: spray cover with water proofing and will keep your boat dry..
also BPS sell a cover from Attwood for the motor, pretty nice for $120 bucks
also can go all out with a custom cover from here, not cheap but nice stuff...
http://www.outboardcovers.com/default.htm
these are not cheap, i have both the splash cover and the full cover...well built but costly.
