I could use some prayers!

I've been mulling in my mind whether or not to post this, but here goes. So far this has not been a good year for my wife & I health wise. Last week, I had to take some time off from work. I do a lot of heavy lifting with my job & was in some serious pain. I went to to my doctor, and he said I had a hernia and gave me a referral to a surgeon. Well, I went to see the surgeon & he checked me out & said I have 2 hernias. Great, that's just what I need! I'm scheduled for surgery to fix me up on March 4th. I'll be off from work for 6 weeks to recover.

Anyway, last June my wife lost most of the hearing in her left ear. The doctor she saw then said it was from a virus, and she would just have to live with it. Well, she's had a tough time with headaches since, so a few weeks ago, her primary care doctor (different than mine) said she should get a second opinion. They did an MRI on her & she has a tumor in her head behind her left ear. We spent a good part of the day yesterday talking to doctors, including a neurosurgeon. They told her this type of tumor was common, and was not usually cancerous. They said in her situation, surgery was the best option. It's rather large and is pressing on nerves that could cause some serious problems if left alone. She decided to have the surgery, so they scheduled it for March 24. Hopefully, if all goes well, by the time she comes home from the hospital, I'll be in pretty good shape & can take care of her while I'm still home.

Both of us are trying to deal with all this the best we can! However, I'm a nervous wreck! I'm trying not to think about it, but can't help it!

I know there's a lot of power in prayer. I really believe that! So, If anyone who can will kindly say a prayer for us, and especially my wife, I sure would appreciate it. I'm sure it would help us get through this a whole lot easier!

My thoughts go out to you and your wife. I had a hernia and had the surgery. They told me 3 weeks recovery. I was up and about with little pain in 3 days and off light duty in a week and half. Hope that will lift your spirits on recovery. Hope all goes well

Jim, if your have read my post on the issue of Prayer, you will know that I am living proof of the power of prayer!

Let go and let God take care of this, don't burden yourself with things which only he can take care of.

I will Pray for your wife and you, for God to put his healing hands on both of you and to use the Doctors as his tools if that is his will.

We have a large base of prayer warriors here, yall are now on that list!

OMG, at first I was thinking a hernia is not that bad and the surgery for them is very common and successful but then on and your wife's tumor. You can't help but be nervous.

I know if you keep your head up and stay strong you'll get through these two things.

Well being in hospitals for a good part of my life with many surgeries I've kinda gottn used to them but You have a lot of support and God never gives you more than U can handle so I'm sending you 1 of my ultimate prayers from when my Mom made it through her 2nd breast cancer sickness and she is still driving me crazy so I know it works and she was only 49 when this happened and now I'm 49 so she's doing better than I am LOL. So long story short PRAYERS SENT. Also my Cousin goes in tomorrow for his hernia and my other buddy goes in tomorrow for hernia so U guys gotta stop lifting all that heavy stuff your gettin too old for that. Feel Better both of U.
