I just picked this up last week and have had it out 4 times since the purchase. 18 degree mornings and 35 degree afternoons and it still starts and runs incredible. It's a 2001 223 Champion DCX Elite that only has 59 hours on a 225 opti. The previous owner only used it an average of 6 hours per year and kept it garaged and covered all of the time. It looks and rides like a brand new boat. I have had 8 different bass boats since the early 80's, but this is the finest constructed boat I have ever owned or fished out of. Thanks for letting me share it with you.

Sweet boat welcome aboard! The 223 front deck is like an aircraft carrier landing strip. ~cf

How did you find this gem?

Thanks for the comments. I found that the best time to get the best deal on a nice boat is right in the heart of winter here in the cold mountain states. Even though the Champ is 10 years old, it has only been used a total of 59 hours. the gentleman who owned it bought it new in '01 and has only used it once a year for a 10 day houseboat trip on Lake Powell with an average of 5.9 hours annually! He had a custom garage built for the boat and that is where it has sat covered and in immaculate condition. He serviced it each year prior to his one big trip and has kept the Optimas up to charge on an ongoing basis and started it once a month. The guy is very anal and meticulous with all of his toys. He had it on Craigslist for $21,000.00 for 2 months and when the add ran out I called him and offered $16,000.00 for it. He finally let me have it last week and I went and picked it up. I live in So. Utah and the picture was taken at Sand Hollow Reservoir last week. The sunset makes the color change since it is Purple on white with teal border striping. The carpet, upholstery, gauges, and graphs show no signs of use. It looks like it has been in a time capsule! I thought it was a little big until I got it on the lake and now understand the legendary ride of the Champions. It will be getting alot of use on Powell and Mead where a performance bass boat is reallly appreciated.

Great boat. My dream boat is a 223!

I recently purchased a 206 Elite with a 250 HPDI with 97 hours.  Boat is immaculate and I am very impressed with the ride and  hole shot and fishability.  I came from a SX200 skeeter that was nice as well.
