How can you get in touch with karu lures. I want to order some some vibershock swim blades and they dont show them on line

coldfront

this might be a dumb question...and mods, if it is not appropriate, please let me know and delete this...

I was under the impression that due to 'one company' having patent rights to a product...and then exerting those rights...that the vibrashock was taken off the market.

This I can understand...but what is troubling to me...is all the knock offs out there that continue to also be sold?

did I miss something?

Coldfront a small Co. can't fight the bog boys,,,,,, best to sit back and watch them hash it out and see where you can fit back in once the fire is out.

tubebait best thing to do is reach out to Karl directly http://www.karulures.com/index.php?option=com_contact&Itemid=3 or pm him here GotstaFish

thanks Ron...

I was trying hard not to be insensitive to Karl's needs...and I do understand the big boys sometimes pick on the 'easy' targets first...

It's all fun and games until the lawyers get involved...

KaRu folks have always been the 'pinnacle' of helpfulness and professionalism...and I do enjoy their products.  From swim jigs and those amazing skirt color combinations they come up with...to the products no longer in production...

No trouble bud, it's an honest question and,,,,,,,, well lets just say I'm very happy I don't have to buy only one kind of spinnerbait, one jig, one crankbait and so on,, but until than I'll have to make my vibrashocks last  ~sweat ~sweat

Fortunately for me, Karl works at the local sporting goods store and anytime I need vibrashocks I'd just swing in and pick some up.  Honestly if Karl told me that He wasn't going to be able to make and sell anymore vibrashocks, I'd max out every credit card I own to get as many as I could before he quit.  lol, I don't know what I would do with them.

X10!!

I fish the year round and just can't imagine being without them .  :surrender:

Im guessing that the rason that he became the target is because they are so good, and have a big following.  hopefully the courts will do the right thing and Karl will start pumping them out again.

They didn't target Karu Solely.  The targeted just about every company that makes a bladed swim jig.  The funny thing is that the Karu Vibrashock was so incredibly different in about every aspect, but the patent still applied.  To bad.

Nate, they are trying to apply the patent to the blade itself.  After the last fiasco KaRu came up with a new blade and ZMAN amended their patent to include 5 different blade types.  Since it was amended after all the other bladed jigs hit the market and they included the blade styles that all the other baits were using, they are trying to skirt the 20% difference law.  ;)

Tube, I have 2 or 3 spare blades to hold u over till u can get with Karl. Let me know if u get near Haughton.

If Karu made their football jigs with a flat eye, you could just add 3 pieces to them (blade, split ring, duolock) and have a Vibrashock. It would be nice if they had the flat eye jigs available with an optional hardware pack. ;D

you know how hard it is to find a football head that matches that Karu head? haha.  I searched the net for almost 5 hours looking. I think I looked at every tackle retailer ever posted on the net, before finding a head that's nearly an identical match.  After finding the blades, split rings, and snaps, I can now produce my own shocks, until Karu comes back out on the market that is.

I've got football heads with free S/S guitar picks with every order Hahahaha  Fogy is right, I can't fight corporate America. Just waiting to see what Strike King and Booyah are going to do. I hope they beat them at there own game. I'm more than 20% different but don't have the cash to prove it  ~rant

And unfortunately that's what it takes in this world. It's a shame that a company like Karu has to stop marketing a top quality product. I would understand if it was the same as the Chatterbait. But the shocks have a different head design and different blade shape.  I don't understand how that's not different?

GotstaFish

In their patent it's worded that any lure with a blade in front of it that vibrates  ::) Funny that they got turned down for 7 years or so and then one day got 2 or 3 patents  :bang

Dug

It's certainly a F_)&(# situation Karl, and I for one am glad I bought so many from you, but yes I too may need to take advantage of the S/S guitar picks with every order.  LOL.

My Stepdaughter is in a band after all.

In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.

it's not funny...it's amazing how liberal at times it seems a patent granter can be...and how much of a stickler at other times...

there's very little that seems to be 'orderly' or make a lot of sense...

since you opened up the guitar picks...I just spent some time going through a guitar DVD (how to play guitar like randy rhoades)...wow...what a bunch of stuff to help improve technique!

GotstaFish

Awesome! I'm looking at getting a new guitar as well  ;D Peavey SC3  :o For the money it sounds great! Only problem is I can't play the 2 I have   ~roflmao Better stick with the drums  :)

With any luck, we will be seeing a lot of Z-man crap on the clearance tables, and at big lots, and then in the dumpsters behind the buildings,  and then they will GO AWAY.

Just had to post and give Gotstafish props for his design of the old guitar pick jigs.

I bought some over a year ago, before I bought a boat even, and stowed them in one of my many boxes of tackle. Last Saturday I was fishing my first day of the 2011 year, a tournament on Lake Eufaula and ...  :shocking: yeah I know, way to long not going  :embarassed: ..... Anyway, the fish were just slapping at a spinnerbait and after my partner and I lost a few I remembered deep in the bowels of my storage locker I had some vibrashock's. So on goes a nice 1/2 oz black and blue with a modified baby brush hog trailer with some blue flake in it. First cast EVER with a vibrashock and I caught a nice 2lb fish!!!  ;D I thought I had snagged some grass but no it was a fish. My partner was like MAN...that was your first cast with that lure???  Got another!!!
Although I did try some other baits thru the day ALL fish were caught on the guitar pick bait. Wound up culling to 5 keepers for 13+ pounds and a 5-14 kicker! 2nd overall  :) THANK YOU Karl.

Now on to this topic.
Looks like Stanley is not scared of Zman patent rights.  lo

can't play much either...that's why I stick with cheap guitars.  Just sold off my last Takamine...(F350 12 string) and picked up a Schecter Corsair which is a whole lot of fun...

Karl, tell.them it don't have a blade out front, it has a split ring out front. Hahaha
