I am getting some baits painted in Bluegill color and shad color ? What size and what model crankbaits/jerkbaits/rattlbaits would be best to get painted in each color ? Why ? My thinking : I wouldn't get a jerkbait painted as a Bluegill but then why would I get a jerkbaitbait painted as a Shad ??? Thanks very much.

First off im going to stArt by welcoming you to the ultimate bass family , and you may want to check out the new member contests .It may just be me but I personally would never get a jerkbait painted in shad or bluegill/bream specifically because there is no similarities in profile so a jerkbait to me would be better off being painted in a shiner type color because its a forage fish with similar profile . I would think baits like rapala DTs would make the perfect profile for these type baits . And also if your fishing in the fall when the bass are on balls of tiny shad around an inch " rain bait " the strike king mini crankbait in "woops"y shad worked wonders for me this year and doesnt need repainting . Take a look at recent threads by MarcDVD hes a master of airbrushing baits . Hopefully he will chime in and give some info . Heres a recent thread of his you make like . http://www.ultimatebass.com/bass-fishing-forum/index.php?topic=82261.0
