I call this my Radio Active Series. (RAS) Ok i cant wait any long to post these bad boys. LOL. the pictures were taken with my phone so the true beauty of these baits are not captured. In the first pic the green is a deep rich emeral with black and kelly green flake. the blue is brightish with some pearl powder, fine blue and fine silver glitter. There is an ingredient that i will not post up just yet. You can see in the second picture what that ingredient is.

these bad boys glow like they are radioactive when the black light hits them. the one in the middle was the last one i was able to pour before my split cup cracked. so after that i made them with a blue belly and green back. i know swim baits should "match the hatch" well these have a different mission in life lol. i was doing some late night thinking and came up with a couple different ideas on how to fish the swimbaits...

*peg a heavy weight and punch mats
*really easy to skip, so skip, then kinda dead stick with light twitches

***this is my favorite idea***
texas rig with a pegged weight (i like to peg my weights) but rig it through the side of the bait. if you rig it like this it looks like a fish eating the eggs. and if you are pitching and flipping like that it looks like an almost dead baitfish.

i'm sure you guys have already though of that but i just did and thought i would share just incase nobody has thought if that yet.

Nice job ! The one with the fins resembles a Jerry Rago swimbait to me .

thank you. my cup cracked so i have to wait and make another one so no swirls for now.

Hey Jesse, I've been lookin' at those molds too.  How do they swim?  Good tail action?

jesse1378

great action, i use a 5/0 1/8oz swimbaithook. the tail kicks alot of water, the whole body of the bait kinda wiggles back and forth a little, but it worked well enough to catch a 3.3lber the first time i took it out in ultra clear water. i love pouring and thrwingthat bait. i have yet to tie on the big one, but th little guy stay on a rod ready to go.

Thanks buddy!  I especially love the #885.  Think I'm gonna' order it after Christmas!

jesse1378

you cant beat it. i love that little bait. for measuring...

4 oz plastic will make 8 baits. i use BBCP Ultra Med. with 2 caps softner. i have 2 molds with 2 cavities and it leaves very little in the cup when finished. great action with that set up.

Dunham Fisher

That's good to know Jesse.  I always try to match plastic amount to how many cavities I have.  Less waste that way.   :)

Great baits.  Is it expensive to get into plastic making? Where do you get the plastic at to make them and how would you no how much of each material to use. I would like to make my own beaver type baits and like a brush hog do they make molds for these types?  Thanks

Initially, just like any other hobby, there is an investment to be made.  You can get creature type kits.  They come with everything you need to start pourin'.  Mold, plastic, colors, etc.  You can buy from a quart of plastic, up to 55 gal. drums.  Google Bear's Baits, Del-Mart, Lure Craft, just to name a few companies.  There are plenty of resources out there.  It can be VERY addicting!   ;D  Just wait untill you start catchin' bass on your own creations!

There are so many good people on UB who would be glad to answer any questions you may have.

Don't be afaid to ask questions.  And good luck!     DF

i am on bearsbaits.com every day. he has a forum. join and search. if you want a beaver and a brush hog he has beave style from 3.25 in up to the beast...6" and brush hog style from 3.75 up to ..uh...big lol and he has injection kits to start..i dont inject...yet...he does have the injection molds so you can pour them. depending how much you jump into things depends on how much you spend. since i dont sell my baits i wont ever make any money, but when i get all the molds from all the baits i use i will never buy soft plastics again. save money...sure eventually. but its fun i have been doing it maybe a year and i have already bought an air brush to start painting hardbaits. its addicting. if you have any questions shoot me a PM and ill talk your ear off about pouring baits.
