Saw a topic on Gorilla Hulls in the Toledo Bend area and was wondering if anyone has one and how it affects the handling.

BassBUFF

I believe Papa has one on his boat. He should chime in soon.

It shouldn't hurt the performance of your boat at all. I have heard in some cases it actually helped the boats performance. I have yet to hear one negative thing about Gorilla Hulls. Only one place does them and that guy holds the patent. I bet there are some boat manufactures that would love to get their hands on it. lo

Yep I have one on my boat, Smith Marine in Minden did mine.
Did not seem to effect performance at all, of course I cannot drive my boat as fast as it will go so I don't know about other boats lo
Seriously seems to be just about the same and sure is tough.

Smith Marine :-\ I thought the guy at Toledo Bend was the only one that could do do them.

I tore up my boat at Toledo. The guy at Toledo town repaired it with a gorilla hull and did a great job. It no longer scratches or or gets stress fractures when I get on a stump. Top speed is about the same as before and it is guarenteed for the life of the boat. That was 2 years ago and I have not had a complaint yet. By the way dirty water lines wash off real easy.

BIG PAPA

Well it might be a little different or something but they put one on my boat

bassindago

what is this gorilla hull?

Jared LeBlue

It's some tough crap. Guaranteed for life. Don't know whats in it or what is made of but you have a boat for life once it is on there.

Take a look at the Gorilla Hull page at Toledo Fiberglass. Looks pretty cool!

I guess once my hull gets too dinged up for me to look at anymore, I'll consider one, I just worry about it affecting performance

cmegee

I'm planning on getting one on my boat this winter, if I can fit it into the budget..

Don't have one but have been told by a few folks that the performance of the boat gets better, the dimples from the new hull results in a reduction in drag = better top end.

When they put the Gorilla hull on my boat they told me they were adding 40 pounds to the weight of the boat. I got 40 pounds in lures in the boat. The weight does't not effect performance.

brobutch

What kind of price does this go for?

BIG PAPA

Around 4 grand for a 20 footer
