I appreciate his comment, and I'm sorry if I came off as rude.  I'm a little keyboard happy  ;) .  I've done a lot of research-oriented writing with bass fishing, and that just takes over.  Believe me, as long as someone isn't being rude or unnecessary.  And partially I was hoping for a response like yours.  I want to know the truth, not what the companies and sponsorees try to sell.  I was just saying my reasons for not wanting that rod, not trying to offend Kuntry Jr.  If I did I'm sorry.  I was probably bored and didn't have anything else to do, so I went on a tear.  I appreciate all of your opinions.  And, to tell the truth, if I could afford them, all I would have would be Kistler Z-Bones.  Thanks guys
J.Davis you didn't come across as rude and thank you for apologizing any way. Another to add is that Kistler has told me that the reason that they have to make their Return Policy so strict is because people would break them like -Shawn- said by abusing them and that they would lose money big time because they aren't a very big company, they only have seven people working in their office lol.
The great thing about that when you Custom order a Z-BONE they actually hand make them, so just something to ad as well. ;D

Just to add a comment/idea.   :-*

Sometimes it is better to go with the idea you get what you pay for.  Heaven knows I bought a lot of cheap rods over the past 40+ years, but the ones I paid the extra cash for are still the ones I use everytime I head out fishing.

Just my humble opinion after reading about all the limited warranties from companies that have been posted so far.

good point Baron...one of the reasons I tend to 'stay' with the Shimano line is that I have full confidence in their company 'backing up' the product.  I've never used St. Croix...so won't have an opinion...other than to say from all the good things I've heard, they sound like someone I'd be very happy doing business with...and would say I've never really 'seen the need' to try to go to many other rod options...although having used the Cabelas XML for a large number of years (and still do for a couple applications) I like them as well.  And they are also backed up strongly with a customer service group that I have extremely high regard for...

Frankly, now that I'm well into my career...money's not as tight as it used to be...so I get to expand my selection options in terms of purchases...and like you suggest, I look beyond the actual product...and consider the 'what if' questions...

thanks Baron...

I may try a few Duckett rods.  One of the best warranties and a good product from what I understand also.

I have a friend who prefers denali rods over anything (And he has about EVERYTHING!) A few of there rods run under 120 and even 100

It really seems to me every rod in its price range are very similar.  I just recieved my Fenwick HMG and I am very impressed with it.  Haven't used it yet, but it meets my expectations and then some.  It is a 7' MH, MF action and I think it was $127 shipped.  Take a look at their website and see what you think.

As for Denali, their rods are not made in the USA, and I do not believe they have a lifetime warranty of any kind, so that is one thing to consider.  But I might be wrong about the warranty.

::edit:: I checked the lifetime limited warranty, and it is only on Rosewood rods.  But even then, if you break it at your fault, they assess the damage first and then hand you a bill to fix it.
