I just recently upgraded my LCX 113 to a HDS-10. I am going to order the LSS-1 in the next few weeks.  The unit is going at the console and if all is well I will replace my LCX 38 on the box with a HDS-8. Here is my question:

1. I have an 08 20I Skeeter.  Can anyone tell me specifically where the best mounting place for the transducer and any brackets that I might need that is not included in the bundle.

Thanks in advance,
Skeet

Do you have a jack plate on the boat?

Yes, I do have a jack plate.

I prefer to mount on the inside of the lower jackplate frame using provided bracket .  See page 7 of the LSS installation manual, or find it at this link

Using the provided bracket allows you to adjust the angle of the ducer so that the ducer face is parallel with water surface while idling.  This provides optimum returns.  Take your bracket to the local hardware store and buy the proper size stainless-steel bolts and locknuts for a secure mount to the jackplate.

For jackplates that have the bottom, protective plate (like Bob's Machine plates), I like mounting to the middle of that plate, again using the provided, adjustable angle bracket.

Thanks for the info.  I think I have a Slidemaster Jack plate.
