Mike Cork

Well you are a little far east for me but whole knows after this huricane season, maybe Louisiana will get blowed a little closer to you ~roflmao

If I am ever down your way and it's night time, just look for the glow.

I hope you and yours are safe from Katrina and are praying for those who were not so lucky to come out of the disaster unscathed.

We by no means are going to get the brunt of this storm but we are going to be about 50-70 miles east of it's projected path when it is still at a cat 1 - Tropical Storm. SO, we will get plenty of rain and we are probably going to eperience sustained winds above 50 MPH. Going to be a long weekend for sure.

Mike, prep for it like it was a Cat 5 hurricane, cause help is usually a little slower inland, limited resources, go to where they are needed the most.
Best investment is a generator or two, at least you can keep food cold and frozen, watch TV, and if you have phone, get online.
I have learned that fuel is hard to come by at this time too, at least for a few days.
When we get the word, I usually try to get 3 or 4 days worth of generator gas.
Thats at 12 gallons a day.  :shocking:
It is real important if you are on a well.
If not, water is important too, fill your bathtub, for gp water, and use bottled for drinking, cooking and that kind of stuff. I figured a case of water a day for Sharon, the pups and me.
After I got the generator, life was a little easier, at least we had lights, a fan, and were able to keep stuff cold, and eliminated the need to hunt around for ice.
Good luck, we are prayin for yall over there.

That's all great advice Pferox69 and coming from someone that lived threw last years mother nature attacks on Florida, something to take to heart  ~read

The update this moring puts us down to about 40-50 MPH sustained winds. Maybe as it gets closer it will drop some more. Got a generator and gas'd up yesterday. We should be good to go around here as long as that Pecan Tree in the back yard holds up :shocking: Darn Self Pruning trees :'(

Pray for Rattle and the South West Louisiana and Sout East Texas folks they are the ones that are going to catch the Fury :'(

I think it is outstanding that you all are finding the site with the search engines. I worked really hard to get a good rank on google. I wish that we had more links on other sites leading folks here. I guess we are going to have to take out ad space somewhere big to make that happen lo

Well, doggone it anyway, I haven't been out lately either. I surly like to get out before the snow starts flying though. I think this is a good time of year to try to catch a big bass. ::)
