Hello, lclubb, just enrolled in this site Learned of this site from a guy in my bass clubb. Thought I would try it out, but not very familiar with this kind of stuff.

Mike Cork

Welcome aboard lclubb, what club do you belong to? You know your club can get a free forum to do business in if you are interested :-*

I found Ultimate Bass through a link on a member's sig or personal page over on Tackle Underground.  I wish I could remember which member it was so I could give him kudos here.

I found TU when I Googled lurecraft and tackle making.  I have to finish a bunch of lures that I have rough shaped and have been sitting in storage for 15 years or so.   :-[

I have to actually build them and fish them before I have any expertise!   lo

Now, if you need help with air compressor systems, then I can share my expertise!

Oh, I will.  I just put my air compressor back together (cracked the lower crankcase at the oil drain).  Need to test run it a few times and get my airbrush going again.

Ooooo, Air Brushing you can make some great combinations. It will be exciting to see what you come up with :-* I have always wanted to get into that but just can't seem to find the time, or the spare money really. It seems like from what I seen the start up costs can get pretty high :-\

I scored a Pasche VL airbrush for 40% off through Dick Blic Art Supply and joined their club to get 30% all the accessories.  Have about $57 invested in my airbrush.  My air compressor is a Porter-Cable "7HP" 60gal unit that makes 12.1cfm at 90psi that I only paid $315 at Lowes 3 years ago.  I sell Ingersoll-Rand air compressors now, so the Porter-Cable will be upgraded to a 20cfm I-R when it gives up the ghost again.  I have about $600 total invested in my complete setup with regulators, fliters, and such.   Need to build my hobby paint booth, just haven't found the time and the garage is full of stuff to sell at our upcoming garage sale.

I primarily bought the airbrush to do fancy paint jobs on r/c car and truck bodies like the one's in the magazines.  Just happens the airbrush is good for fishing lures too!   lo

If you decided to buy a compressor, PM me, I can help guide you on a larger, garage sized unit.  That way you can use an impact wrench to rotate your tires and never have to drive to the gas station to put air in your tires!

From everything I have read and the couple people I have talked with the Pasche is the best way to go. I don't know if I would ever get into big enough to need a garage unit but I like the idea of the impact wrench. MORE POWER ARH ARH ARH :-* :-*

The Pasche is a great value.  Iwata air brushes are probably the best, but the VL is 1/3 the cost of a comparable Iwata.  When my skill exceeds the capabilty of my VL, then I'll be a pro and I'll buy an Iwata.   :roll2:

I bought my big compressor with the intention of using all kinds of air tools for auto work.  Plan to build a custom '67 VW bug or a MK IV Golf/Jetta in a few years when my daughter is old enough to help.  She loves VWs as much as I do.

:toot: I heard from a friend of mine that this is the place for a hopping party. Mr. Lipripper and Mr. Bill (WME) and I can't forget you Laurie.

Just to introduce my self I'm a life member with the North American Fishing club. I live just outside of Columbus, Ohio. I don't bass fish much unless they steal my minnows when I'm crappie fishing or my worms when I'm saugeye fishing. I would like to get into bass fishing and might try a little this summer. So if I'm full of questions you will know why.

So let's party.

Well in the mean time if you have any questions about how to get to a specific place or how to find something just give me or one of the staff a shout and we will all be glad to help you out.

I always hate going to a new forum becuase no two are alike. We work really hard to keep things organised around here and easy to find but there is so much information that sometimes it is just plain too big ;)

I am sure Lip will be really excited to see you on the site... I just renewed my subscription to NAFC so I will be checking in from time to time. There are days when I don't even get to read all of what there is here so it is rare that I get a chance to check in at other places ;)

I was a Charter Member of NAFC years ago.  I still have the stickers on my old tackle boxes.  I let that membership expire a long time ago.  I probably should check it out again...

That is great news. BoilermakerFan, you should bring that NAFC membership back up to date. Lipripper, DAWG, Laurie, myslef, you will find us over there from time to time as well. There is a great bunch of info on this site A.M. We have pro's visiting here also. It is a great place to get a bass fishing career started, and, just plain talk about fishing as I do since there are no bass in Alaska lo It is a realy easy site to navigate Iclubb, and that is great that you have jumped right into the charter membership. Take a look below and there will be a section for you to post in there also, not too mention your own photo gallery, do not forget to post up them pics. It is great to see all these new people and

Again to the ultimate bass fishing site on the net ~c~ ~c~
P.S. Do not miss out on the contests that go on around here, you never know what Mike and Laurie are willing to give away, somtimes I think they have both lost it lo lo They do a great job at finding sponsors of the site, and the sponsors give away free gear, yep, you read it right , FREE. Check out the July new member contest and this Tuesday, be on the lookout for the weekly contest that goes on around here and you have a great chance to win free tackle ~read ~c~
