Well last weekend I bent a blade on my Yamaha prop on Toledo. Took it to power tech to be repaired. Guy at the counter looked out side at my boat and stated that they had a  power tech prop would do better on my 250 and my prop would be two weeks before it was repaired. Had a tournament the next weekend so I bought the prop.
Bought the power tech in the same pitch, he stated they had tested them on the same skeeter and same motor with better results.
The power tech was 6mph slower on top end, almost twice as slow out of the hole.
Went back with boat to power tech, two days after the purchase. Was told that I needed to raise jackplate.
I informed them that the boat had a hydraulic jack and I had tried it practically at every position with terriable results.
I ask to exchange for a different prop....answer no. I ask for a refund.....answer no     I ask if they would like to purchase it for half of what I paid.... answer no

Now I am sure at some point they made a good prop and probally still do or they would not be in business. However after my customer service experience I will never go back.

Now I have a sign and a prop at the front lobby  of my office that says "ask me about this prop).

At one point, powertech would let you demo props before you bought them. I don't know how many different ones my cousin used before he purchased. You can most likely sell the prop easily depending on which one it is. This is in no way a defense for them, but they supposedly do have a prop that is supposed to work well on Yamaha motors. I see people talking about it all the time. Which one did you buy? IMO, if they told you it was supposed to be better, they should give you your money back since it wasn't.

Go back and tell the manager if they won't work with you on getting the correct prop that actually performs better as your were told and if they cannot provide one that does after testing you will take them to small claims court. They don't want to be taken to ANY court as it cost them money. 99% of people will not do this when they have been mistreated and they are counting on that fact.

I dropped a prop off there early last week, and hope to get it back tomorrow.  They wanted to sell me a 4 blade prop, but told me that it would have the same top end speed.  Really not interested.  However, he seemed to indicate that if the prop did not do what I wanted, I could exchange for a fee.  I want to say I heard him say $50...  His name was Jeff

Go in there and Ask to speak to Steve Powers, He will take care of you and if he is not there turn around and walk out.....I would NOT run their prop on anything that I own personally.....I think they are more into specialized Props for heavy vessels and stern drive applications.  You cant beat a Merc or Yama Factory Prop for a standard bass fishing boat.  As for getting a prop fixed I think they do a fair Job. I have owned 2 of their props and have had major Problems out of both of them, But Steve Did take care of the problem for me, He is a stand Up guy....but his Sales people or something else!!!

Good luck!

Only reason PT wont take a prop back is if you have obvious use on it.  I know most of the guys there from using their props... and that is a 180 from everything I have experienced.  I'd like to hear PT's side of the story.

Reason being is I know 3 people that swapped or returned props in the past month.
