Something took a bite out of my prop today on the river.  I have a 25p tempist on my 200 Merc which is pushing my SuperPro 200.   I have been thinking about getting a faster prop, but will probably also need to get this one reworked.  The bite is about two inches in total length near the end of the ear, with part being a little rough, and the end peeled back just a bit.  Oddly enough, we didn't notice any change in performance.  Any suggestions on where I can take my prop to be reworked, or what would be a faster prop for this rig?

Power Tech for reworking your old prop, and take a step up to the Fury prop for the best performance.

I'll second the Fury! A 25p ran great on my Merc!

Walt Adams in south Bossier also does prop work.

I know this is off topic... But does that Super Pro 200 chine walk? Have a buddy that just bought one and when you hit about 60 it goes nuts. He is running a 25 tempest and a 10 inch fixed jackplate. So he cant play with motor height, until he buys another plate. Thanks, just tryin to help a buddy

Mine does when it is just me in the boat, when running at WOT, which is about 65-66mph.  With a second boater, I think it is better balanced, and have not noticed the chine walk, or maybe it is the decrease in speed by 2-3 mph??

Power Tech or Walt are about your only choices for local prop repair, and I agree on the Fury for a faster prop. You may want a 24p though. They are pretty stiff props. I run a 25p on my 21' w/ a 225XS.

Jason, What kind of RPM and Top end are you getting out of the 25p?

walt doesn't do prop repair...Powertech is your best option in S,port/Bossier or you can try the PropShop over around longview area.

I just dropped prop off at powertech!  Looks like it will take 10-14 days.  I am intersted in a Fury.  The "prop selector" on the Mercury site says I should go with a 24p Fury.  Currently, with 1 person in the boat, I am running about 65mph on the GPS, at 5200rpm.  According to Mercury, WOT rpm should be up to 5750.  I plan to get this prop fixed, and hopefully upgrade then keep it as a spare.  Anyone have a prop that I can borrow for this weekend   lo

I have a 26P tempest you can use. Just give me a call If you need it. My # is 617-7614

Shawn, running empty, I get 73.6 mph at 6k rpm's with that prop. Running fully loaded with partner, his gear, and full wells, I see about 70mph average. With my "fast prop", a worked 27 Trophy Plus, I can get 76 mph light, but it doesn't run that great loaded. Mostly in part that I don't have the right plugs for the vent holes. It's really hard to get plained out. I really haven't messed with it much since the Fury runs so well all the way around.

Ok I guess I will stick with my trophy, I get 71 out of it fully loaded at 5600 rpm.   I need to get it worked though.  v~

That's pretty good. I have a hellacious hole shot with the Fury, and it's partly why I stick with it. I need to get the correct vents on my Trophy to see if it is worth anymore than my Fury loaded.

That is a great deal on a Fury!  I am trying out a Fury 25p tonight.  I had to get a sleeve for it, since I left mine in my Tempest when I took it in.  Powertech is not done with my repair, so they gave me a new sleeve to use.  I went straight home and bolted it on... everything looks good.  Wife has demanded that I take her fishing tonight.  Of course, I agreed, reluctantly  lo

Those Fury's like to breath. Not sure how it will act on your boat, but I have all the hole wide open on mine. Let us know how it does.

Lawguy513

The prop came with no vent plugs in it.  I don't know if the wife will tolerate a wide open run, but will run it wide open this Saturday.  I can't wait to try the Fury.  However, I need to get an adjustible jack plate so I can get the motor height optimized before I buy a new prop.

Elwood

A Fury will give you great all round performance and will be a step above anything you have run so far....if you want max performance send your prop to Mark Croxton or Steve Custom props.  you can google either name and get to their site.  Turn around time will rival or better local turn around times.

I had mine done by Croxton. Really fast turn around.

Ran the Fury 25p last night.  Definetly had an improved holeshot over my Tempist Plus.  I need to get an adjustible jackplate and lift my motor up some to lower my water pressure closer to 15 from 23 before I decide on a new prop.  My RPM's with the Fury were about the same as with the Tempist (both were 25p).
