If any of you like to use those folding pouches for keeping your lures covered on your rods, then I have a DIY project for you.  Duct tape and Sticky Back Velcro are what you will need for materials and a ruler and scissors for tools.
Duct tape comes in over 30 different colors or patterns so there is a lot to choose from, and at about 3 bucks a roll, while not cheap, is inexpensive compared to how many lure keeps you can make for just the price of one or two.  As far as the velcro goes, I bought a large box of the industrial strength 2-3 years ago and still have a bunch left, and use it all over the place, so I recommend it to you, but if you are not so inclined, then you can buy smaller and still save a ton of money on this project over buying them.

First you will need to make a "sheet" of duct tape.  lay an 8 inch piece sticky side up on a flat surface in front of you.  on top of that, lay a second 8 inch piece face down over the bottom half length of the tape, flip over and repeat  3 more times.  When you have reached the end of this last piece, fold the remaining sticky side up over the sheet and you will have a sheet of duct tape, no sticky.  Kinda looks like this.  (apologies for the poor drawing.

Once that is completed add a 1 inch velcro around the sheet as shown below.  Leave a 1-2 inch gap on the sides where you will be folding your lure keeper to ease in the folding and to wrap around your fishing rod.  Takes about 5 mins to make and each costs less than a dollar in materials.

I will try and take a picture of a couple I put together and post them.

In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.

As promised....

The Start

Completed Sheet before Trimming

With Velcro added.  A note here. Use 1/2 width rather than an inch as first described.  If the velcro doesnt' want to stay when you open the pouch, just rough up the duct tape surface and add superglue.

Finished product with a bottle of white out inside. (didn't  have a lure at my desk!)
