For years Ive been adding things to my Jon boat, in an effort to make it more fishable.  First a front deck, FCTM, electric anchormates.  Then I added a rear deck, with a live well.  The deck is great, basically a bunch of hatch doors sitting on a grid, that give you access under them.  Only issue I have is that there is no dry space.  I've looked everywhere trying to find plastic totes the right size to put in each compartment, but have had no luck.  Thought about using wood, but Ive added more weight than I wanted to already.   It finally hit me today,  Construction foam board.  I figure ill use the 1 inch stuff, glue it all together, the exact size as each compartment.  Then I'll line it with some awning material that i salvaged from a factory a few years back.  The foam board weighs almost nothing, and will add buoyancy in the case of a mishap.  Just thought I'd share that with you guys that are like me and always messing with the boat.  I'll try to get some pics when I'm done.

If you want a little more durability you could put a thin layer of fiberglass on the inside of them. It would add weight but it would reinforce the foam board and would still be water-proof.
