Has anyone seen any pictures of the 28" bass that was posted on the DOW web site for released fish if so were can i view them.

Bass4Life

Heard the story but never saw any pictures of it. 28" Bass would be a gaint for Colorado. There some monsters in there but 28" I don't know.

On a side note anybody can get a couple of friends to sign the Master Angler form and say the caught one that big, but a picture is what it takes for me to belive it.

My thoughts exactly I want to see a picture looking at the fish and some kind of ruler and also location verification. 28" would be close to 15 pounds if not more depending on the time of year. I have seen some big fish pictures out of RMA but 28" ??? if a picture does exist it would be great for colorado bass fish.

it's an interesting point...I submitted a C&Rpike to a national awards program...ended up 'second' by 1/8 of an inch to a minnow dunker from up in New York...

Now, I know I could have stretched that fish another 1/2 inch if I'd held it vertically (47 inches of pike can stretch a bit...)...

but that wasn't the point...my point was sharing a great fish catch and release with a bunch of folks....and yes, I have and did share the photo...

Now, around here 28" of bass ought to have given the state record a run for it's money...a serious run...

Here, it's pretty darned hard to find one that tapes out to 23"...and all those that folks 'say' make that number...well, let's just say they probably didn't lay them on an actual Golden Rule... ~shade

This is just like the State Record Largemouth that ESPN had up from here that was 13 1/2lbs!!  All BS the Dumb AS#$# put 3 1/2lbs of weights in the fish and didnt think he would get caught!!!!!!!!!  The Master Angler program is for people with small units!! ;D

I just get a kick out of people, go talk to people fishing and you always find the one guy that says I just caught a 5lb bass, that guy as never seen a 5lb bass. We have some public places that hold some big fish but they aren't that easy to find. Most ture bassers in colorado wouldn't go public with a record anyway. Honey holes are to hard to find and most public water gets beat to death fast.

I had heard that this fish was caught by a Denver Bassmaster's member. I assumed it was legit. Hogmaster, do you know if this catch is true, or not?

A guy from our club was there and saw the fish no way it was even past 22".  The Master Angler program is CRAP!!  I have seen a 27" Bass that went 18".6lbs caught in Cali at Mission Veijo the fish look like my Brittany Spaniel!! Beleave me if that Clown caught a fish that Big there would be picture proof!!  YOu are telling me that not any of his friends or the Ranger didnt have a phone with a camera on it!!!!!!! Thanks HM, for setting the record straight. Man, I hate the "smallness" that goes into such BS. What a waste of everyone's time. >:(

What's the largest RMA bass you know of? I'm aware of your 7blers. Any others?

PaulRoberts

HM,

To be eligible for entry a photo and witness are required -so there must have been one. I had heard the angler, Derek Mitchell, was a Denver Bassmasters member. Any ideas who he is? Is he still around to ask?

I'd like to know if CO can grow bass with a 28" frame.

Dont know him and never herd of him?  I dont know if you saw my post a couple of years ago but I had 2 fish over 7.6 out of the RMA and I was fishing next to a Guy fishing a Fly Rod and he Caught a 9.5 he weighted it on a Boga.  I have seen fish pushing 10lbs and the biggest I have seen was one close to 11.0.   One of the Rangers I use to know told me he knows a place every year that he see's a 13 that beds but he wont give me exact location he just said in the cattales.

Thanks HM. I did see your post. "Epic day" I believe. If you go back, I would love to hear back on lengths of these fish. Any measurements you are aware of?

I know it's a late post, BUT....I would just like everyone to do the research that One Big Pig and I did...28" bass would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 16-19 lbs from Colorado??? No matter how far you stiff arm that line, I ain't biting it.
