Stump bumper

I hit the road at 0530 hours this morning at about 22 degrees and a brisk west wind, stoping for cup of coffee in gentry then waiting in line for an hour to launch. We fished a tourney with at least 40 boats, and a shotgun start in fog so thick you couldn't see boat lights 20ft in front of you, and yes some idiots were running up on plane.

The water temp at the discharge was 72 and by the time you hit the next creek out it was 58. The bluegill that were all around the shore a week ago were gone and so were all the big bass. My partner boated two nice keepers weighing a total of 7lbs, I landed one baby bass and a gill (the bluegill was bigger).

There were a few good limits brought in, I saw a 8lb bass, some 17-20 lb sacks, by people who planed for a colder lake and were fishing deep with carolina rigs on the points.

For a heated power plant lake this has been a funny year, but it still beats cabin fever. The field was full and everyone fed the box on the gate so the nice guy who let us park there made some money today.
