Looks good, guess I will need to go down to the potomac early, not much time at all down there..... Need to explore the mighty river

Do you guys have any openings in your club?  I live in Harford County and I would be interested in joining.  I would want to be a boater.  If there are available openings who can I contact?  Thanks

Trainer52

yes we do, please post or pm CharlieD your information...

Skeeter03

Thanks.  I was not able to post a pm...but I did send Charlie an email.  Look forward to possibly becoming a member.

I was late and didn't get to see the ramps but I assumed Tydings... Can lapidum accomadate us during a tournament? Parking , Tie up for our boats...just curious I have never launched there

crankin 4 bass

According to the others it can hold us.

The reason for choosing Dundee, Lapidum, And Smallwood was they all are state parks and we can launch for free as many times as we want with a State Park Pass. The pass is about $75 dollars so it will more then pay for it's self just with the 9 club tournaments. Even a better deal when you consider how many times you will lauch out of those ramps to pre fish or fun fish.

Lapidum does have a decent size parking lot. Not much room to tie up so we would pull the boats then weigh in.

Eric goes out of there all the time so we will check with him. I know big boats launch out of there all the time and it is directly across fromt the large port deposit marina so I think it's fine as long as you head towards the bridges

I really didnt start thinking about it untill last night....

I guess only time will tell.....

Alot of people launch from lapidum........think they have 20 trailer spots if that and only 10 for single cars. As our club is now....we would take up half the trailer lot and the entire regular parking. We just have to hope we beat everyone else there in the morning.

And yes...there are hazards....

Just have to follow someone out that knows wich way to go.

According to DNR

27 total parking spaces

I used to run out of their when I had an Aluminum boat.  I used to run straight out to the middle and then straight for the bridge.  I believe the only real hazard is a small submerger Island on the right hand side when running towards the flats.  Sometimes it is marked with a milk jug.  I think the only concern is that there is no where to tie up, but I guess we can deal with that.

If it's a pain in the ass we can always switch over to Tydings. I have never been there on Saturday Morning so I don't know whatto expect. During the week when I have been there the lot seemed plenty big. No big deal. The intent was to save the $8 dollar Tydings launch fee.

Schedule looks good for you guys and I wish the club luck in its first year. I was really considering joining this year, but after some thought I will have to put it off until next year (if I am given the chance again ;) ). Between work, finances and some other personal issues it would just be hard for me to make the extra time to be a contributing member to the club.

I look forward to maybe getting the chance to fish as a guest with someone during a Tx this year tho as that would allow me to meet everyone in the club and get a feel for how things are ran/going. Or hell even prefishing with anyone who wants. lo

I'll also be sure to try and check out some of the weigh-ins.

Tight lines fellas.

I would think that it would be alot less crowded, and cheaper in the long run if we launch at Lapidum. I am good with Lapidum or Tydings...it doesnt matter.

Sam I am

According to Google earth there are 29 trailered spots, and like 19 car spots. There is also plenty of room on the sides to park for overflow.

There are some very minor obstacles, but they run the big 35' party boats up there all summer long. No more obstructions then anywhere else. I wouldn't run more then a 1/4 mile north of there though.

The water is almost 100' in some spots directly across the river.
