Omaha Bass Hunters
C.A.R.E.
(Catch and Release Enthusiasts)

A small group of anglers dedicated to the pursuit of fun, friendship and bass in and about the small regional waters of Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas-typically no more than 1.5 hours from Omaha..  Occasionally, we may schedule an exotic trip to Missouri or even some other state if club interest exists.

In keeping with our passion for catch and release and low-key fun, Bass Hunters conduct 'card' tournaments where anglers catch, measure and release their fish immediately.  Fish lengths are recorded on cards to determine order of finish in the tournament, Big Bass of the day and the ever important 'Angler Of the Year' points for end-of-season place/finish.

Tournament pairings are determined by draw although every effort is made to mix/match partners to insure everyone fishes with everyone.

Club meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month (February through November) at the Poop Deck, a fine local establishment located at 60th and Grover.  Meetings start at 7:30PM.

Depending upon club vote, there may be 8 or 9 tournaments held from April through October

Don't mind at all...let me know if you're coming ... I'll be sure to be there a bit early to get introductions going...

first meeting of the year is club officer elections and we push our folks to 'pay their dues'...which covers cost of plaques, awards through the year.

Looks like a great schedule Kurt. I'll be out of country untill late May, so maybe i'll tag along on one of these Tourneys! I am however now boatless but thats likely going to change. As in, I might get a new boat before I start looking at a new place to live when I get back.  lo

Let me know, Joe...we always have room for guests...

I will. It was a very sad day when I put all of my rods and tackle in my storage unit before I left. My crankbait stick and I shared a few words and parted ways but I promised it that I will be back!

BTW, Interesting choice going with Viking. I imagine that there should be a few decent sized fish in that lake by now.

I've never fished it...hear it's an interesting lake in terms of cover/structure...the low water shot on Google Earth right now looks fascinating...

We expect a lot of smaller fish for sure...knowing it's early in the cycle from when it was renovated.
