camera mount for boat/field/etc....A

I spoke with Mike a while back about how hard it is to take pics when you are by yourself. I remembered an article I read years back on how to make a clip on tripod type device. Well I decided to make one today.
Parts needed: Large binder clip, 1 1/2" bolt and nut (take your camera to the hardware store and get one that fits the threaded hole on the bottom), drill bit slightly larger than your bolt, drill, and pliers.

Drill hole in center ( I apologize for the blurry picture, was trying to be steady)

Insert bolt from the bottom and tighten the nut on.

And done, I clamped it onto a tie down in the bed of my truck to demo, then Irealized Iwould not be able to take a picture of the camera with the camera on the mount.

This works great as long as you have a timer on your camera, just have to get behind it to make sure the picture is lined up, practice and it will come out fine.

Thats awesome! Thanks for the tip. I normally just set it on my rear seat, but when I'm not in my bass boat its tough to find a spot and this will come in handy!

This is a great tip, one of the best I have read! Thanks for sharing. Can I offer 1 slight improvement though, put a washer on both sides, to help strengthen it just a bit.

I thought about it, but 1. I didn't have any handy

and 2. I figure the camera only weighs about a pond anyway. My wife's biggest concern was what happens when I spin around and knock it into the water. But, It sits far enough away from me.
