but screw it, I'm posting anyway :)  Guys, I have just recently started going to Church.  Part of it was to bring my children up correctly and part was because I felt that I was just plain missing the point in life.  I knew there had to be more.  Most of you know I deal with anxieties and I went searching for a release from this.

Now, I am still in church 101...just a beginner, so I have not even come close to all of the answers of life, but I did find out that I am never alone and best of all, all of the things in my life that I have been struggling to control, well...they were never in my control.  This lifts a great burden off of me.  It is not easy, kinda like being addicted to drugs, sometimes you fall off the wagon (loose faith) and have to start clean.

Anyway, I am the same old Roy, still gonna drink a few beers with you, still gonna lie (That lying ain't right, Lord I apologize for that right there and be with the starving pygmies down there in New Guinea there, Amen.) about where and what I caught my fish on. lo

Just wanted to share.  Not gonna go on about it anymore but if anyone is interested in talking about it feel free to let me know..and all God's people said   ........................................................................................

I might not be a part of your club but that was great to hear and I'm glad it will help you make it on your the path of life. I hope that some day I might be in your neck of the woods and we can drop a line together.

A good post that "belongs" everywhere, RoyB.  Happy to hear you have found what you need to fill that hole in your life.  It's a great feeling.

Man oh man...over 53 views but everyone is relatively quiet on this subject lo  You know, it was one of the hardest...and easiest, things that I have posted.  It is weird, you can hear a song you like and dance and sing, but put me in church and I stand still as a statue and lip sync the songs  lo  Why do we find it so uncomfortable to talk about I have no idea? :-\  But witnessing to your friends, not knowing how they will react, is really hard.  I could have posted this on some other board, where no one knows me, and it would have been easy.  Posting here was my decision since I can reach all my friends at one time.

OK, I want to see all of you in church Sunday morni......just kidding lo  That is an individual choice to be made when you feel the need.  Anyone can attend, but you have to want to be there.  I wuv all my buddies  ~lu

This is a first for me aa  Dude with the halo kinda looks like me doesn't it lo

It is a very personal decision...glad you found what you are looking for!

Where are we going...and why are we in this hand basket???

you answered your own statement with the second part of this quote, not every one is up to committing on this subject. We all kind of feel like its to personal to talk about and do not want others to look at us strangely. look at it this way we all must do what we feel is right for us, and the one that read it and go on, its still in the back of their mind. Some day they might need something in their lives to and this will pop up and then you have done a great thing for them. So just smile and think nice of them!

Kevin, thanks so much for the thought.  My dad passed away over a year ago and I still have times when things he said years back just now come into reason for me

Roy my grand parents came here from the old country (Hungaria). devout Catholics. She told me when I was little, You don't have to go to church to be good as long as you believe. Big statement from a little ole lady that didn't stand 5 feet tall. Stuck with me all my life.

Hi Bud,

Just wanted you to know that I am happy for you. I know you will find the answers that you are looking for and see some things in a different way. Roy, you can witness to your friends anytime you want, day or night. You are our brother and we care.

RoyB

bass1cpr....agreed.  I just seem to gt a little something extra from church that I was missing

Wink P.  ....  Thanks brother

I'm not knocing your choice please don't take it that way. The most important part is to believe. Hope you get all the fulfilling rewards of belief.
I'm closest to god when I'm on the water enjoying all his creations. I guess that's part of the peace that fills me when I'm fishing.

Amen to that.  I feel the same way on the water.  Just because you go to church doesn't make a person a Christian.  I sometimes feel closest to God when I am out on the water or in the worldiness...never in a city lo

Amen Brother!!  You said it much better that I ever could have.  I'm a Christian, but not very good at always showing it - I chew too much Copenhagen, cuss on occasion, and tell too many fish tales (I mean lies) ~an~
I too feel best in God's church, i.e. Mother Nature.  I truely believe God watches over all of us, everything happens for a reason, and God will take us (hopefully while fishin - at least me ;D) when he is darn good and ready.  I appreciate you sharing with all of us -we need to recognize the one who makes it all possible a little more often.
Love one another, respect one another, and take care of one another.  Cheers and Thanks -
